Thanks brother. Several days of gettin after it + ibuprofen = mostly gathered into burn piles.

Yessir. I have some fun projects slated for the pine logs. And yes…I had all four sweatin’ and driving the tractor and the mule around. Makes it fun for me. I pretty much just run the saw and they clean up the rest.

After we got everything cleared away, the damage was much less than we feared. We were very fortunate. No need to get insurance involved for us.
Sounds like a lot of progress.
I understand ibuprofen. When I was the age of your children I could spend all day behind a chain saw with a 28" bow and never feel it. Now thinking about it hurts.
Back when I dealt with the clean up I was the mule. Occasionally the tractor would come out with a chain and be used but not often.
Getting away without insurance involvement is truly a blessing.

Classy copperlock, Jer! :thumbsup::cool::cool:
Is that a full-size copperlock, or a mini (and is there a good way to tell the difference between them if you're looking at a pic of just one without much in the way of contextual size clues)?
Thanks! It's a full-size, and I don't think there's any difference from the mini except for size.

Stag/Horn Knife of the Week is a Joker horn folder my daughter bought for me in Spain:

Work Knife of the Week is a Watchman anchor knife:

Gary, your daughter has very good taste. Great horn.
I can see myself carrying a blade like your watchman while sailing.😍

Glad no family was injured.
Thanks, us too. Alot of people north of us weren't so fortunate.

Jon and Zach, I'm glad you and yours are safe, and I hope the clean-up/fix-up is not too time-consuming and expensive.:thumbsup::cool:
Will insurance cover some of the "minor" damage like smashed fences and torn-up siding, and major damage like Zach's grandfather's carport and vehicles?

- GT
Thanks, we appreciate it. It wasn't too bad of clean up & the repairs to our house were simple enough for me to fix without getting insurance involved. My grandfathers property is another story. We got the trees cleaned up off the vehicles & equipment moved out. He's talking with the insurance company & dealing with that now. They're going to cover most of it from what I hear.

Thanks Bart. As I’ve heard about how bad the damage was north of us in the Asheville area, I realize how blessed we all were here to only have power outages and some trees down. The flooding there is devastating.

Glad y'all are ok & the damage wasn't worse for y'all. I hate to hear about the damage in the upstate along with Georgia, North Carolina & everyone else in its path. I've seen pics & videos from up that way. Places like Ashville, Chimney Rock, Bat Cave, Lake Lure... We head up to those areas at least once a year. All those places have been wiped off the map now.
In some of those towns there is absolutely nothing left & some people higher up the mountain are still stranded.
I've heard weather reports saying we had about six tornadoes reported that had branched off from the main storm just here in South Carolina.
I've been trying to help out friends & neighbors get things sorted out. My heart goes out to those still dealing with the loss & damage.

Got the tree removed that fell on the carport at my grandfather's.

Glad the insurance is working with your grandfather on repairs. That is the "like". Will add a sad face here for having to deal with it.
