What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thanks, us too. Alot of people north of us weren't so fortunate.

Thanks, we appreciate it. It wasn't too bad of clean up & the repairs to our house were simple enough for me to fix without getting insurance involved. My grandfathers property is another story. We got the trees cleaned up off the vehicles & equipment moved out. He's talking with the insurance company & dealing with that now. They're going to cover most of it from what I hear.

Glad y'all are ok & the damage wasn't worse for y'all. I hate to hear about the damage in the upstate along with Georgia, North Carolina & everyone else in its path. I've seen pics & videos from up that way. Places like Ashville, Chimney Rock, Bat Cave, Lake Lure... We head up to those areas at least once a year. All those places have been wiped off the map now.
In some of those towns there is absolutely nothing left & some people higher up the mountain are still stranded.
I've heard weather reports saying we had about six tornadoes reported that had branched off from the main storm just here in South Carolina.
I've been trying to help out friends & neighbors get things sorted out. My heart goes out to those still dealing with the loss & damage.

Got the tree removed that fell on the carport at my grandfather's.

Stay safe & have a good one y'all!
Zack, glad all your family members are safe.
Having been through 3, know recovery will come and there will be many great people behind you.
I wish all our southern folk a safe and quick recovery.

A new addition. I need another knife like I need a hole in my head. I couldn't help myself!

Finally got around to doing a group shot of my BF collection. From left to right starting @2006 to 2023 , this years still to come. It’s been a hell of an adventure collecting all of these , big thank you to everyone who helped me get the more difficult ones .A2CEC630-DECE-4CAE-9B24-C02EC900AD4F.jpeg2FBF1E43-6CA4-47DE-BD3B-4F8BEC99F94B.jpegB5A71E6F-7FCD-42F1-B1C0-5945254E7020.jpeg9532EC7F-7D18-407D-92C4-740869AD3D2F.jpeg551800D0-1E93-4A33-940C-BF8912616C5C.jpeg

I enjoy seeing that rustic handle, José!:thumbsup::cool:

Thanks for the info, Will. Congrats on the impressive new knife, and plaudits to @Corto_Malt for his generosity!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks for the info, Steve; fantastic golden horn!:cool::thumbsup:

Thanks for sharing what you've found out, Chris!:cool::thumbsup:
Uh oh, indeed! 😁

I like the unique perspective in that photo, Jeff!:cool::cool:

I know what you mean. 🤓
I find myself carrying a marlinspike knife very frequently because a hefty sheepsfoot blade and a "pokey" tool are such a useful combination.:thumbsup::cool:

ED and Jim, those are a couple of VERY handsome and useful stockman knives; I'm real fond of the '47 model, and amber bone almost always looks good.:cool::cool:

Jon and Zach, I'm glad you and yours are safe, and I hope the clean-up/fix-up is not too time-consuming and expensive.:thumbsup::cool:
Will insurance cover some of the "minor" damage like smashed fences and torn-up siding, and major damage like Zach's grandfather's carport and vehicles?

That Rough Rider scout and Camillus electrician are a couple of solid workers!:thumbsup::cool:

Superb stag pair, David! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:
I don't recall ever seeing such a skinny, barehead, big bolster clippoint knife, with such nice stag, from Wright!

Notable pair on a notable post, Steve; outstanding stag on that lambsfoot!:cool::thumbsup:

Top shelf jigging on that one, José!:cool::thumbsup:

Classy copperlock, Jer! :thumbsup::cool::cool:
Is that a full-size copperlock, or a mini (and is there a good way to tell the difference between them if you're looking at a pic of just one without much in the way of contextual size clues)?

Hail to the Chief! Splendid knife, Jim!:thumbsup::cool:

Really like the fake stag on that one!!:thumbsup::cool:

🤓 Yeah, Chris, I suppose I'm pretty predictable (just like a good knife ;)). Definitely a canoesseur!

Good Gracious, grand grain!! 😲:thumbsup::cool:

Thank you kindly, Professor😎
Thank you!

Thank you. The tang stamp certainly would suggest that, but I’m not able to find any evidence of the model 89 before the 70s. I’ve scoured over the internet to get lookin for infor on short lined 89s but haven’t found anythin really helpful

They’ve been workin hard this fall

Thank you!
Yes, must be a later re-issue because that looks like their Staglon version of delrin, and I don’t think they were using that in 1949.
Lovely Stockman no matter what🤙
A new addition. I need another knife like I need a hole in my head. I couldn't help myself!

I’d say everybody has a hole in their head, judging by the amount of “just arrived, and straight in the pocket” I see. 🤔

Offshore 8OTB?
I have the 858OTB.
The 9CR18MoV blade steel seems to hold a descent edge, and is e-z to sharpen when needed.

Stay safe & have a good one y'all!
Looks like the pickup can be salvaged. A "new" used box from the salage yard ... maybe the cab (I can't see if it was damaged) from one that had a frontal inpact, if necessary.

One of my classmates in autobody repair in the mid 1970's bought a '72 or '73 2WD Ford F250 that had been totalled, from the insurance company.
The frame was bent and twisted. He replaced the frame, running gear, and box with the frame, running gear, and box from a same year 4x4 F250.
When finished, he had less invested than the same used 4x4 truck would cost at a dealership. He gave it a black cherry metallic paint job, "just because" and to be different.

Was the tractor the recipiant of more than scratches, and maybe a bent hydrolic control arm?

Nice HJ.

Still hot as hell here in AZ
must be nice.

One of my now late uncles used to say : "Cold is better! You can always put on more clothes!"
(yes. he never met that beeeeeeee itch, "Mr." Arthur Ryetis.)
I disagreed with him, and pointed out he was mistaken:
You CAN reach a point where you can't put more clothes on. They won't fit over what you already have on!
On the other hoof, when it is hot, you can always get in the shower, bathtub, municipal swinming pool, or the local river/stream/pond/lake. 😇👍
Also, that beeeeeee itch Arthur don't visit as often whan it is hot.

Getting cold (and more painfuler) here in South Central Idaho. 🥺👎
