Jack,the patina on your Castor is coming along quite nicely ! I have been looking at picking one up as I love knives that can slice. So many knives so little money:p

Thank you sir. A shame they're not easier to get hold of :)

Carrying the Opinel Carbone #6 with a bit of carving on the end and some shaping on the sides, makes for a different look and carry for her;

Now that is creative - awesome! Makes me look forward even more to the Opinel that is on the way from winning in jackknife's GAW thread!

Case/Bose Lanny's clip. What a knife.

And this little Camillus.

That Lanny's clip is amazing.:thumbup:

When I worked at a paper mill my dad got all the giveaways like that Camillus that the felt companies always brought. He was the engineering superintendent and I was but a lowly worker. One day I need to go through his toolbox to see what I can find.:D

Invoice, that is a beautiful knife! I keep looking at the pic and thinking " leaves of three, let it be!" Is that greenery what I think it is?

Just got the Pemberton yesterday... The #55 Houndstooth has been my 24/7 EDC for the past 10 weeks or so now. This is a fantastic little combo - #6 and #55 :)

Thanks Coaltrain, I'll warn you, the beech is pretty hard to whittle, having to hold it in hand and carving that small area, I had some 'catch my breath' moments when the blade came off the end of the wood and almost into my fingers, pretty scary but it was good practice too...

Actually I would never attempt something like that myself or be able to do it, but your handiwork just helped show me there are many possibilities. I really think it looks neat!

Mine (with garnet jigged bone) has been a real pain. Greg over at KSF suggested leaving it open (between the half stop and closed or half stop and open) to keep tension on the spring. Mine was quite literally tearing my thumb nail from the quick. After several days of leaving it in that position mine has begun to improve. It takes time, though. Just keep in mind that keeping it at the half stop won't work, it has to be between so that the spring remains flexed.

Best of luck. :)

Thanks, I've set it that way for two days now. Seems better, but maybe I'm just hopeful. This Cocobolo 73 is really nice, I want to carry it, but if it's such a bear to open, I don't know. I'll leave it a bit and see. Maybe a week? The lines, color, and size seem perfect for me. Beautiful knife. Fit and finish are quite nice.

This guy today, love the Soldier:
