Harvest time 👍🤠
It’s also planting time. Not the spinach and kale I just started that will pop up as soon as the snow melts next spring, it’s planting time for the tree rats. They are busy planting walnuts in my garden. Along with the mulberry seeds that the birds poop into my garden, it gives me something to do next year digging them out.🧐

My new to me pre 1977 Western 742 Stockman (4" closed length) will go in my pocket this week, possibly as early as today or tomorrow, depending on when the postal delivers it, and witch mail call it is in. (it is out for delivery. 😁👍)
EDIT: (@ 11:25 AM 10-08-24) The tracking info says it was delivered. 😁👍
EDIT: (@ 06:05 10-09-24): Postal LIED 🤬🤬
I sure hope it gets here this week.

the covers match my 1980 ("D" date code) Western 062 two blade folding hunter, which has not left my belt (except when using it) since it arrived on 08-31-24.

Both the 742 and 062 have unplated/un-lacquered 1095 blades. 😁👍

Going to town soon - post office then the grocery store. No stops to eat. We had to rush "Utah" the Doxie to the vet yesterday afternoon. She developed a golf ball size lump at the site where they performed a biopsy the other day and it bled internally. Now we've got meds to administer to her twice a day. I'll be carrying this Scout Trapper today. Not concerned about breakfast just now.

"Utah" the Doxie the day we brought her home 7-years ago. She was nestled between my arm and the late CoCo.

Tree rats can be destructive pests.

Two blade Tidioute Tuesday! I'm smitten with this 81. Bill & crew are out to ruin me financially, my Single-spring thing leaves me powerless against these 32's and 81's.

If you’re talking about a utility blade knife, you should get a cool, old Stanley. Much more character than the modern ones and more fun to use because of it.
Well I appreciate the suggestion Bart, and I *wish* I could find a handsome older Stanley like yours. The plain jane new ones are 6$ now, doesn't seem a good value. So what razor knife *does* pass muster here? Funny you should ask! Dug this out of one of my toolboxes the other day, doesn't look like I ever used it. I must have had a pocket full of money back in the heyday of Home Despot (before it sucked) and it was doubtless on sale. Stainless integral lockback with rosewood inlay, brass pins, and pivot rides on adjustable bearings. I covered the naughty bit to make it Porch-appropriate. If you must sin, do it in style Porchitarians!
You sure like that recovered Camillus Bart. Funny how often you come back to that with so many other knives around to choose from. Moo!

Have a great Tuesday, with a knife :)
