I had a suspicion it predated S&R's use of "Craftsman".

Thank you my friend. I would expect that Robeson would have called that knife model something else if they could have seen into the future. It is a really solid old knife.
I like the back story that came with it too. I purchased it from the Grandson of a Camillus cutler, who inherited his Grandpa's knife collection.

These are with me everyday when I leave the house.

The Catcherman lives in a pouch velcro'ed in the right hand holster pocker on mt 5/11 vest. The Cold Steel Mini-Pal serves as a zipper pull, the CRKT K.I.S.S. serves as a money clip, and the Leatherman Squirt is always in my watch pocket. These are not used when I reach for a knife but rather serve as safety and rescue tools.

Today I am wearing carpenter jeans. a bit roomier than my regular jeans so I picked out a larger knife to drop in my front pocket to handle the mundane cutting chores today. And of course a color coordinated lighter, a nice vintage Scripto...

Wait...what? Zipper pull? Show us!

Apparently I'm designated host for a couple of Russell Barlow guest pocket occupiers. Should be fun.
The Granddaddy Barlow has a half stop and the smaller std Barlow does not.
Other than that ... they do look kinda related I guess.

I wonder if that beauty is one of the c.1963 - 1969 RJR Prince Albert promotion knives that cost under $3.⁰⁰ (excluding the cans of Prince Albert)?
If memory serves, they had the "Old Timer" shield.
(I think the same age Coppenhagen promotional knives (also made by Ulster) had a "Coppenhagen" shield.)

The RJR Prince Albert knives were an "Ulster Old Timer". A "Scout Knife" was one of the four options available.

Not all Ulster's made during that period were Old Timer's.
