It is a custom piece, I have not seen one quite like it. A guy I know who makes custom sheaths had it and sold it to me, he knows the smith who made it. It has chisel grind, overall 13 cm, blade 5 cm. I wrapped the handle with cotton cord soaked in epoxy and made the sheath.Cool looking knife - care to share some details on it?
I hope the visits to all three docs goes well.Cindy and I both have appointments with our doctor this morning and "Utah" the doxie has an appointment with the vet this afternoon. Gonna be a busy day.
Thank you Mr C.!Nice pictures !![]()
I have not trolled the ‘bay for knives lately, but a few years ago, I came across a few Electrians and Hawkbills that had been modded like that. Some well done, some not so. Bought only the bad ones, so I could mod the mods just for fun. Kept one or two, gave one away.Thrifty with a little mod on the screwdriver. I kinda like the geometry of the blade along with the slight “belly”. Now to get it sharp!View attachment 2693438
You are indeed correct SteveI wonder if that beauty is one of the c.1963 - 1969 RJR Prince Albert promotion knives that cost under $3.⁰⁰ (excluding the cans of Prince Albert)?
If memory serves, they had the "Old Timer" shield.
(I think the same age Coppenhagen promotional knives (also made by Ulster) had a "Coppenhagen" shield.)
The RJR Prince Albert knives were an "Ulster Old Timer". A "Scout Knife" was one of the four options available.
Not all Ulster's made during that period were Old Timer's.
Oh no! That reminds me of one of the old phone gags we used to pull as kids. We'd call a store & ask if they had Prince Albert in a can. They'd say "yes", and we'd say, "then you better let him out" and hang up.You are indeed correct Steve... I have the Prince Albert set ...
