What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thanks my friend
It is pruner, main blade & pruner blade only, very handy.
It looks like it would be! Was that a factory Victorinox offering or a custom job? I've seen some people get pretty creative with modifying SAK's.

Looks like a great time. Glad your dad is recovering from hip replacement.
Your nephew should be happy when he receives these. Awesome photos. The last one really reminds this old guy of simpler times. Harder times, yes but still better in my mind.
Zach, thank you for posting it.
Thanks Rick. I try to take good pics for y'all. That last one is the Camillus I picked up at an antique shop when the Mrs & me ventured up to Vermont. The old Remington .22 box is still full of the factory ammo. I actually got it from my late grandmother believe it or not. She was a farm girl & a crack shot. Despite being the self sufficient type she was incredibly caring & a great person to be around. I'm glad to have had her in my life. Definitely one of a kind 😉

Friday was the Schrade Cut. Co. Premium Stockman, Saturday was the Robeson "Craftsman" ( preceded Sears Craftsman ), and Sunday is a Catt. 😊

Wow! What a weekend trio!!!

View attachment 2702104Hi everyone! Many of you might remember me from a few years back. I lost track to be honest with you. Anyway, those of you who don’t know me, I’ll be looking forward to getting to know you. I’ve missed the community, and the many of you that I’ve encountered in the past. Today I’m carrying a Camillus stockman. Lance
Hello from S.C. Lance!
I'm pretty new here, I joined up in your absence. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your posts & getting to know you as well. I agree, the porch is a great community to be a part of 👍
That's a nice old Camillus btw 😎
Is that a sword brand stamp I see on the shield?

Smooth Bone Single Spring Stockman Sunday
That's a mouth full! 😂

Staying home today. Maybe watch a movie and a football game. I was rummaging through one of my Case drawers and discovered this 6231 1/2 (1974 6-dot) swell-end jack covered with Case's1970s red jigged bone - dang near mint. Forgot I had it so I'll recliner chair carry it today. Corned Beef Hash and eggs-up for breakfast.

That's not the only good one I found in the same drawer. A 6235 1/2 (1976 4-dot) swell-end jack covered with jigged delrin also danged near mint. It'll be a recliner chair carry today too.

I swear, I gotta go through my knife drawers more often. No telling what I'd find.
Beautiful knives.

Zach your photos are great.
That box is a true keepsake.
I have a few rounds in an oldbox that was my granddad's
I know what you mean about having them in your life.

Thank You Sir! Yes, it is the Sword Brand stamp on the shield.

Very useful review thank you, wonderful picture of an interesting and unusual lockback- well worth getting! I only have one of their fixed- Bird N Trout flat grind which is a strong favourite, its odd looks belie the very real ergonomics of the knife. It's my travelling fixed for pic-nics, food prep and the rare bit of fishing I get in.

I’m a big fan of a Bird & Trout pattern and Grohmann’s #2 does it very well and that is a very nice example you have, especially in the flat grind.
I couldn’t think of anything better for picnics, especially with that blade-handle offset, I’d have no issues getting a complete cut through my cheese on the charcuterie pallet with that!
I’ve yet to handle any of the fixed blades, I’d imagine they’ll not be too dissimilar from the folder?
A #1 is first on the list as it’s the “original” but a #2 to me looks even more original than the Original! 🤷🏼‍♀️

I really recommend the flat grind B&T it excels with food prep: tomato slicing, apples, big melons and cured meats, slitting open rolls, baguettes etc. Plus it looks very OK!

Thanks, Will
