What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

As I kid, I loved Kbars because they were the only decent knives available in our small town.

meh ... be that as it may, maternal and paternal family tradition for at least 10 generations each is to take a few favorite things with you. Cutlery, weapons, pen & ink (includes quill and dip pens) and so on.

While the physical stays with the empty shell, their essence MAY go with one to the next "life".
Why else would civilizations/societies around the globe from before the Neanderthal to today send items the one who went to the next life with items from this "life" they may well need in their next?

Yes. I liked the knives. the red things with them ... not so much. 😇👍
Future archeologists will appreciate those of us who try to take it with us🤙

I meant to ask about your EO Navy Jack ~ does yours have 33 stamped on the tang, or did you learn the model # from old catalogs? My four line Camillus does not have a model number on the backside.
Always glad to learn something new!
It's cooling off quick out this way. It dropped about 20°F since Tuesday, mid 70°s down to mid 50°s for the high today & rainy.

That brought back a fond memory.
To avoid the usual “His piece is bigger than mine!”, my parents would say “You cut, and let your brother choose”.
Cut carefully, Zach.
Thrifty Thursday

Very nice, Jim🤙
I miss the days when these were all on the shelf in any Sears hardware dept.

Any concerns with calving this time of year? Cold could be rough
Not really, the biggest downfall is calving over the holidays. 😁 I’m in California and it doesn’t get cold enough to affect the cattle. I think it only froze once here last winter. Most people around here are “fall calvers” which means August-October. We pushed it back to Dec-Jan so the calves avoid the heat and flies in late summer/early fall and we don’t have to ship baby calves when we move from irrigated pasture to winter pasture in the fall. Probably way more info than you wanted.
