What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Dark here nearly all day, 20 hours :( Winter has decided to arrive with heavy snowfall yesterday and -16c today so will not be going out into that feezing dark this Sunday. Instead, inside conosling myself with Smoked Salmon Pasta and playing with some favourite knives which always brings light :cool:

Well you certainly made fine use of the light there. Lovely photo.
A well bred pair of knives also, Jeff.😍
Hey thanks!
There's no substitute for good breeding or cubic inches.
Do I detect some Glenbaddery?
Is it an 881?

These for church today. Yesterday's folder purchases and old Sparky. (Robeson, Hammer, Olsen, Colonial.. All sharp and clean now.)

Outstanding lambsfoot, Jeff; the bone is sensational! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

I just found this at a flea market gave $25. Santa Fe Stoneworks 3" lockback - Petosky fossilized rugose coral handle material and 16-Layer Damascus steel blade

Arizona Ironwood handle material on the other side.

Wonderful flea market find! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:
I didn't know Petoskey "stone" could be used as a knife cover.
Here's a Vic Explorer with a little Petoskey stone bear in the bakground:

Have a nice day ☺️
Splendid knife with an attention-grabbing wood handle! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Your Farol "whale" knife is unforgettable, José! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Robeson Equal End for Thursday ...... 3.25 inches closed. 😊

Rob, your Pocket Eze is very easy on the eyes, too! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

I've always preferred the Stones over those other insects. That song works well Gary.

Once in awhile an idea actually works out, where I don't want to put it in the back of a drawer.👍🏻
Bob, I had to attain a certain level of maturity before I started appreciating the Stones. ;)

Great pair GT, kind of a Mutt & Jeff combo.
Thanks, Jeff. :)
I really appreciated your willingness to sell me that Imperial toothpick! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Thanks Gary, 5K Qs 5K Qs .
That's a nice looking Case, I like the bolster stamp & coloring on it. That Imperial toothpick is also pretty cool. I don't see many toothpicks with a secondary like that.
You just reminded me that I haven't carried my Imperial toothpick in a while. I think I'll join you 😉
The Schrade Stockman will be along for the ride as well 👍

Nice toothpick, Zach; is the stockman an 8OT (since it's almost as long as the toothpick)?:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
Toothpicks with a secondary blade (other than a fish scaler) have been hard for me to find, but my preference is to have a clip/pen (2 Imperials) or clip/spey (a Buck) toothpick.

Gary, the word eclectic does not do this pair justice.😃 Great toothpick
Thanks, Bob. :) (I'm not sure if I'm eclectic, or just disorganized.🤓)

Somedays I am just happy my pants have two pockets. 😁

Couple of appealing knives! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

3 often used, honest, work knives. I enjoy them all. Yeah, I know, I’m a cheap date. I do see my first GEC in my near future though. I just have to find it. I’m thinking gabon ebony #86, sheepsfoot with awl/punch. I really like a #47 as well. But, I digress. Yall have a good one! View attachment 2733502
I like your approach to knives! :thumbsup:🤓:thumbsup:
I like my electrician knives and RR sowbelly stockman knives and RR half-hawks (although I prefer the 2-blade version of the half-hawk).
Good luck with chasing down a GEC you'd like!

That Kutmaster punch stockman seed corn knife is superb! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Congrats on that loom fixer, Bob; nice rosewood covers! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Definitely a pair of contenders for Best in Show for Black Friday, Steve! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Sublime knife, Bob! :thumbsup::thumbsup:😲
What's the little stag rectangle? You don't have a set of stag dominoes, do you?

Pocketing an older Kissing Cranes whittler for this stag Saturday.

Wonderful whittler, Greg; the pocket slip and deer carving are also very appealing! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Have you had it long? How old is it?

Heavenly holiday canoe! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

The sun came out today for the first time in ages. ❤️

Your CJ lambsfoot Barlow looks great! :cool::thumbsup::cool:
Is that type of fence common in your area? I've never seen anything like that!

I have a GEC #74 jigged micarta that has turned into a surprisingly able user for me.
I don't have much micarta, but I like what I have. I can't recall ever noticing JIGGED micarta, though; have to keep my eyes out for that.

That checkered wood handle is uber-appealing, Bob! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Well, first at least YOU have matured Gary. My wife calls me her 8 year old.

The cube was a gift and it is actually a fridge magnet.

As for the checkered knife, I am finding the Rosecraft knives a great bargain. This one has a nice " grippy " feeling to it.

Thank you, sir. I need to try a 2 bladed half hawk. Do you suggest any certain cover? I’d like to see a red spacer lined black micarta highlander version. Aaaand a single blade sowbelly trapper from them in cinnamon bone stag. Thank you for the well-wishing on my hunt…I’ll need it!

Looks like you have plenty of pocket space available! 😂
That one on the bottom with the "Champion" brand reminds me of my childhood spending time with my dad in his shop. There's still an old decal stuck on his garage door from somewhere around the 1970-1980's, I'd have to ask him when he put it up. I bet he probably even has some "Champion" spark plugs hiding out new in box somewhere!
Thanks for sharing that!

Thanks Gary,
Yes it is an 80T 😎
I got it from a generous porch member, Old Hunter Old Hunter , (Thanks again Bruce)
I would love to see more of your toothpick collection 👍

😍 Great photo, Will!
Canoes of the Week are a Case amber jigged bone CV model and an oriental Schrade 11OT (that came with no shield).

Amber bone + patina = 🤤
My tote for this week after giving the bland and washed out stag scales some TLC with potassium permanganate.
