What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Going across the railroad tracks on the far side of town around 1:00 PM to pick up a package. Kinda a rough section of the county so I'm totin Modern only - full size Benchmade Griptilian - with a mini-Grip backup; therefore, only my board to show this morning. Cindy's riding shotgun although the shotgun will be riding in the cross bed toolbox as it always does but never fear, Cindy has her Spyderco Delica clipped nicely to a pocket inside her purse. Corned Beef Hash and eggs for breakfast.

On further thought, I might have to take a net to control the beast but now, I've revealed too much.

Be careful Ed; don’t tarry on that side of the tracks! Hope to see you posting tomorrow! 😂

Ed, I expect to see some pics of the ”Beast” later 😉

Very nice Zack. Love the straight forward design.
I do too. That's the one I was drawn most to. My old man & me went through probably half a dozen cases of knives that he had made. My dad got it's twin, but his was in rosewood. I'll have to try to get some pics for y'all. It was just a super busy day yesterday & I regret I didn't get any from the maker or his shop.
I almost got a fillet knife from him but the one I was looking at was already sold to a woman who had ordered a pair. He was in the process of making a sheath for it when we met with him 👍

I hope your new best friend fills you and you wife's lives with joy Ed.👍🏻

This makes three of these Catts that I can remember in this thread.
Among this pattern, this is the most elegant. I think.🙂
I'll add another for you. Catt did a good job on them.

I have the same model when they did that run! That Buck is a great one!

Be careful in your travels Ed!
Please keep us updated with pics of "The Beast" when y'all get back home safely! 😱😉

This pair today & a new addition from my random adventures yesterday...
(Btw Rick RLB0414 RLB0414 , I agree. There is more stuff for catfish than bass & crappie in this box, although there was a little bit of everything) 😂😎

So for the random adventure yesterday, my dad & me went to go see about an estate sale we heard about from a friend of his. A little while later we learn his 80+ year old neighbor is a knife maker.
We come to find out his name is Robert Davis that is a member of the South Carolina Association of Knife Makers 🤯
He was happy to show us around his shop & telling us all about his process. Sorry y'all, I didn't even think of taking pics at the time ☹️
He even makes his own leather sheaths for each knife. He said his hands may be shaky now since his health isn't what it used to be, but he still enjoys working on his projects.
Long story short I came into possession of this fixed blade he made from wood from an old broken antique French dresser. Pics don't do this knife justice. The wood is absolutely stunning in person & feels great in the hand. The sheath has even been wet formed to the knife & "snaps" into place. You can actually feel it!
He was a great guy to hang out & talk with 👍

Zach, old fisherman were prepared for everything.
Nice knife you picked up.

Modern weapons and traditional knives work. Hope it was a safe trip.
A mostly cloudy day here in the City by the Bay! Going to watch the Warriors and NASCAR later. Keeping me company the Charlie and Modoc Specials. Have a great day folks! 😀
A bonus pic of my grandkids at the beach yesterday 🫶.

I was wondering about that. Figured when the time was right, you'd get on it. And there you are. 🙏🏻

Nice

The Nanuk pistol case, which is built to survive being run over by a D2 Cat that Bob gave me is perfect for two pedals.
