Wishing you well for your surgery, Dan and a speedy recovery. I’m at home recovering from a surgery this week. Nothing major, just a hernia repair but it was much more painful and immobilizing than I anticipated. Not sure why I thought it would be so easy. Finally felt good enough today to spend a little time on the forum. Last time I was out and about I was carrying this one.Another beautiful day here in the City by the Bay! Prepping for my surgery tomorrow will be taking a hiatus for a few days. Should be pretty straightforward unless the anesthesiologist is hammered and the lights go out for good. Today’s a double lamb day so it’s these two beauties. Have a great day folks!

Glad your hernia surgery went well. Wishing you a speedy recovery. I had one of those 30+ years ago. Think I was outta commission for a month. Today was my daughter Scout’s 5th birthday, which means I had her Nifebrite #15 “Scout” in my pocket (along with a burlap micarta #72).

Every year on my daughters’ birthdays, I carry the knife that I had in my pocket the day they were born, and for Scout, that was this #15. We also have a tradition of taking a picture of them with their knife every year, which I post here on the Porch, along with all the previous years’ pics, whether y’all want to see ‘em again or not.
This was Scout’s first knife pic.

(Somehow the Bluey ears managed to make it into two years’ birthday pics.)
We had a pretty low-key day. Donuts for breakfast, then Scout went to preschool (we gave her the option to skip, but she wanted to celebrate with her friends). After that we went to the girls’ favorite toy shop so she could pick out one present on her own (which every kid’s birthday it isn’t always seems to end up with something, too). We picked up dinner from Chipotle (Scout’s choice) and watched the movie School of Rock (also her choice).
