They are actually all Basswood. The large difference in color is a result of placing them in the oven at 330 degrees anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes to deepen the color and appearance of the grain. They come out looking amazing!Gotta love the Navy Jacks. You have a mint one there, Bob

Wow. I'd have bet a solid quarter dollar that the 2nd from left was black cherry.They are actually all Basswood. And I wipe them with mineral oil or board butter and give them a day or two to absorb it before hand washing
