My dad had a Corvair shortly after getting married in the late Sixties. It ran into some engine trouble and stalled out right on the train track. With my family’s luck being what it is, that is the exact time a train was coming. He tried to get the car to turn over, but no dice. He managed to get out of the car in time enough to see his beloved Corvair get plowed into by the train and total it. That’s always what I think about when hearing/reading Corvair.Do my i's deceive, or is that a beautiful bright red 2 door 1963 Corvair?
2 carb, 4 carb, or single carb turbo engine?
4 speed or power glide automatic?
I had a '"champaign" color '63 4 door sedan, with 2 carb engine and power slide automatic. (dash mounted shifter)
Great cars. Ever so much better than what replaced them ... the Vega ... the car that rusted out sitting on the dealer's air conditioned floor, and needed the engine rebuilt/replaced after 25,000 to 30,000 miles.![]()
Lucky man Jeff. He will be a great addition.Poison Ivy gets awfully pretty this time of year. Obviously not my property, or I'd have removed it a long time ago.
An old, and "well loved" (used hard) Schrade Cut Co Linesman, and an almost as old, but unused Camillus 23 Jack.![]()

Big day for us. We've reserved a puppy out of a litter that was whelped seven weeks ago today. We have the third pick out of five boys. Although take home day is not til eight weeks old ~ next Thursday, all prospective owners will be meeting at the breeder's this morning to observe the temperament testing, after which we will make our choices in turn.
After spending time with the sire and dam of this litter, and looking at generations of their ancestry, I really think any of them will make a fine family member.
Except for this one little guy. He growled at my wife when she rolled him onto his back.
We have been visiting the litter every week.
Here are the five boys last week at six weeks old ~
