Its the best roast dinner ive had in over 10 years so good I came back the next day. That plate of food looks delicious.![]()
I loved this post for the pups, not the poison ivy.Poison Ivy gets awfully pretty this time of year. Obviously not my property, or I'd have removed it a long time ago.
An old, and "well loved" (used hard) Schrade Cut Co Linesman, and an almost as old, but unused Camillus 23 Jack.![]()

Big day for us. We've reserved a puppy out of a litter that was whelped seven weeks ago today. We have the third pick out of five boys. Although take home day is not til eight weeks old ~ next Thursday, all prospective owners will be meeting at the breeder's this morning to observe the temperament testing, after which we will make our choices in turn.
After spending time with the sire and dam of this litter, and looking at generations of their ancestry, I really think any of them will make a fine family member.
Except for this one little guy. He growled at my wife when she rolled him onto his back.
We have been visiting the litter every week.
Here are the five boys last week at six weeks old ~

I really thought that story was going to turn out better... I can't imagine. That's one of my favorite Rosecrafts, even though I don't own any yet.My dad had a Corvair shortly after getting married in the late Sixties. It ran into some engine trouble and stalled out right on the train track. With my family’s luck being what it is, that is the exact time a train was coming. He tried to get the car to turn over, but no dice. He managed to get out of the car in time enough to see his beloved Corvair get plowed into by the train and total it. That’s always what I think about when hearing/reading Corvair.
Anywho, story time over, here is what I am carrying today. The Rosecraft is courtesy of @Centermass. I really like the coffin end and center swells.

Nice pic.
Pure class Dave, love it.
Amazing jigging on that DeBenadetto... would you consider that Rogers Corn Cob jigging? Or Crandall pattern jigging? Very random and cool looking!
My 50th is next month, but I've decided not to go. Our daughter would not enjoy it, we'll have a three month old GSD puppy at home, and I don't feel like spending 2 or 3 hundred$ to have to listen to the same group of drunks over by the bar. And two of my buds are no longer with us.Another rainy start to the day here in the City by the Bay. Taking my bride to the airport later today. I learned how to drive a stick shift in Dad's Corvair. I also learned what oversteer is, and how far barbed wire will stretch without breaking. My dad had a Corvair shortly after getting married in the late Sixties. During all of our weekly visits, we purposely did not think about that knowing that having third pick of the five boys, two would be taken when our choice came up.How do you POSSIBLY choose only one?
Mr. Watson, hand me your revolver.Thats because of the sun, imagine a dark January in driving rain,a bleak wind with a vicious dog chewing on yer leg.![]()

You are going to have a fine companion. My 60th was this summer and "what you said," and more of it.My 50th is next month, but I've decided not to go. But sure hope your smarter half has a fine time!

During all of our weekly visits, we purposely did not think about that knowing that having third pick of the five boys, two would be taken when our choice came up.
And it turned out perfect. After the temperament evaluations, which took over two hours for all of them, the two chosen before us were not ones we'd have preferred.
The owner/breeder had watched during our visits, and pointed out the one she thought would be the calmest and maybe the best choice considering our daughter. In the end, we thought hard over our two favorites, and ended up choosing the one she'd suggested. This is the guy who'd climbed into Andie's lap and fallen asleep.
