A couple great ones!
Sorry for your loss, GaryMy Dad passed away last Thursday afternoon, not unexpectedly. So I've been busy with family stuff since then; his funeral and burial were yesterday.
I haven't posted much since last week. II'll probably post more knives than I usually do for a couple of days to "catch up".
Canoes of the Week are both Rough Riders. One is an amber jigged bone model that is the first canoe I ever handled, and I fell for the pattern hook, line, and sinker! The other is a Tobacco Road canoe from RR.

Understand. Get the firewood higher is about it. Hopefully if it rains, it will be a light shower and move out quickly. It will. There really isn’t anything we can do to prepare either. Thank goodness our home is on the high side.
Firewood is all stocked up. All building roofs that need cleared are done. They lowered the rain amount from 10” to 7-8”, but still. Haha.Understand. Get the firewood higher is about it. Hopefully if it rains, it will be a light shower and move out quickly.
TRULY!A couple great ones!

More concerned about his wife than his own fate ~ there might be a lesson in that. Thanks for the kind messages, everyone; much appreciated.
Dad was 95 and he'd been hospitalized repeatedly over the past 5 years, at least, with congestive heart failure symptoms. He also fell and broke a hip a couple of years ago, and for years has been losing little pieces of himself to persistent skin cancer. He's been in at-home hospice care since March IIRC. Recently the hospice people said his kidneys were starting to fail, and he only had "3 weeks to 3 months" to live. I visited him for a couple of hours a few days before he passed and he seemed ready to go, except he hated the thought of leaving his wife of 36 years by herself.

If he grows into those paws, he will be a big one. They grow fast. Duncan is well past 40 lb. now. He is a fast learner. But still a puppy, so a long way to go.
