Vance - that's a sweet little fixed blade. I would never have thought about that wood and liner combination, but it actually looks really cool.

It sure is! I just sharpened and oiled mine today. Unfortunately, I cleaned it up to put it away for a little while. I am taking part in this 3 knife experiment and I am trying out some knives that I have been wanting to bond with. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1115412-My-3-knife-experiment
I have a feeling that January first is going to find me with my pockets full of all the knives I have been missing.

Today I have my new EO Boys Knife

The sharp maker would work, but it would take a long time (it is great for maintaining an edge, but not for reprofiling). I used a more aggressive diamond stone to thin out the edge a bit and then finished up with the sharp maker and strop. I am not the best sharpener either, but I have good luck with using a course stone before moving to the sharp maker. There are some great threads on sharpening in the maintenance forum, and some specific to GEC made knives in this forum. I'll see if I can find the ones I have found helpful for you...

Today these two brandnew fellows, Boker CopperLock and Case Peanut, a wonderful combination:

Today it is a Boker Integral II Kastanie with flamed chestnut handles and a Evergreen Winzermesser in olive wood, both in polished 440c. Both of these take and hold a keen edge.

Nice Böker setup, Kris! I have the Sportmesser in the same version as your fixed blade - 140 years anniversary :)

Badexample,

Wow what a scenic place!! Where is that? Nice! Looks like a wonderful place for a walk on a brisk Fall morning. :)

Great pics, thanks for sharing. And with a Charlow too :)

First day in over a week that I've taken my new #48 out of daily carry (which wasn't easy). But these days, if it isn't going to be that one, then it's probably going to be this one...

AZ thanks. It's a county park just a few miles from my home called Hartwood Acres.

Been coming here for years. It's really a great place to be outside and dog friendly too!

I recognized that as hartwood acres immediately. It's my escape to the woods when I'm living in the city for school, a really nice place for a walk (and the free concerts are awesome).

I'm carrying this little guy today:
