Thanks for the Opinel info. I bought the #8 I have back in the '70s in a backpacking store in Champaign. Opinels were real popular among backpackers due to their light weight. I bought this one decades later on the bay, and had no idea of it's age.Great pics!

Do those friction folders sometimes partially open in your pocket? That would not be good.Some friction folders. The Opinel nr 5 got the burned handle with oil and wax treatment, blade will get the coffee patina. These need their own pocket sheaths.
