If I had burned up my firewood in the fireplace faster this past winter, I wouldn't have these cool fungi to pose my knives with. But the huge hailstorm last fall, which caused us to get a new roof, also damaged the fireplace flue. Our chimneysweep discoverd it, and is coming today to replace it with stainless steel.

No. It's not the Invasion Of The Bodysnatchers. Just the Giant Hostas emerging from hibernation.

Superb color, Chris! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
Here's a relevant quote from https://kive.ai/colors/color-meanings/chestnut

What does the color chestnut represent?

Chestnut symbolizes warmth, stability, and reliability, often associated with the earth and nature. It evokes feelings of comfort and security. Psychologically, chestnut can promote a sense of grounding and connection to the natural world. It is often used to convey a sense of tradition and dependability. In art and design, chestnut is used to create a cozy, inviting atmosphere, often seen in rustic or autumnal themes. Its rich tones are favored for adding depth and warmth to compositions.

Here is the final pair of my off-the-rotation-schedule knives I've been carrying this week. Both were Christmas/birthday gifts I bought myself last December.
This Rough Ryder denim micarta carbon steel Halfhawk is serving as my Miscellaneous Knife of the Week (although when I incorporate it into my weekly rotation schedule, it will be in the Work Knife category). I really like these RR Halfhawks with the big sheepsfoot and pen secondary; I also think the swayback frame is very comfortable in hand when cutting.

Lambsfoot of the Week is a RR with stainless lambsfoot blade and black carbon fiber handle. Most of my lambsfoot knives have handles that curve in the opposite direction (i.e., swayback), so I was a little concerned that I might not like one curving this direction, but I had no problem adjusting to that difference.
