What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Today I restored my first handle, and I was lucky enough that it turned out to be walnut. I used 800 to 2500 grit sandpaper (coarse first, then fine following the grain ) and French cabinetmaker's wax. Incredible results!

The blade was in great shape (my go-to sharpener), but the wood was scaled from water damage. It’s a first-generation Salamandra (Albacete, Spain) . With this type of wet/dry sandpaper (which I used dry), you can even polish the metal on the handles. Walnut is so forgiving that it's perfect for beginners. You just follow the grain, apply the wax, and... it's a miracle!

Man, if only Spain allowed us to own firearms... I’d build quite the collection! Gorgeous revolver... any info on it?
Ruger Super Blackhawk in .44 Magnum (Single action. Built larger and heavier than the regular Blackhawk, so that if you want to custom load hot, you can still shoot with confidence.) Pachmayr grips. Factory standard iron sights and trigger. I bought it a couple of years before I got married, so about 45 years old.

I used to handload, but not max hot. Anymore I just use factory mag. Too much trouble to custom load for the amount of use it gets.
