I don't recall ever seeing a 501 with brass bolsters. I'm guessing it was a BCCI exclusive. Really cool knife

Thunderstorms all day today. Two inches of rain, sometimes as a downpour. Fortunately, there has been no hail at my location so far The power was out for a couple of hours. It just came back on. I love electricity
And indoor plumbing

That's right it's the BCCI club knife for 2025. Burgundy burlap micarta covers with brass bolsters and S30V blade steel. It's a great little back lock.

Thank you. Slack & Grinold was a mid sized Sheffield firm. It dates somewhere around 1865–1880 from what I've read. The knarly old stag and unpolished blade gives it a tremendous amount of character!

Knives both of the period AND the quality and condition that marks them as being of exceptional note. This one carries off the laurels for me Desirable and most interesting knife I've seen for a long time : wonderful blade stamp, the right Spear, iconic small bolster with deep 'tail' Then we have Stag that must have come from a race of giants in a long-lost deer park The Stag hafted straight into the bolster, no botched rounding off. YVB indeed, you must be a very proud owner/custodian of it, rightly so.
