Woke up this morning to a downed Internet. Called Frontier and danged if they did't have a tech out here in about four hours - miraculous for a call out here to the boonies. Pocketed this fancy dancy 389 Burlwood Buck Canoe in anticipation of visitors. Sausage only for breakfast - baked beans, franks, and bacon for dinner tonight (supper in some parts of the country).

I believe Camillus used to market OVB knives- Our Very Best. Correspondingly, this one represents YVB Your Very Best out of your impressive collection of genuine collectibles. This one carries off the laurels for me Desirable and most interesting knife I've seen for a long time : wonderful blade stamp, the right Spear, iconic small bolster with deep 'tail' Then we have Stag that must have come from a race of giants in a long-lost deer park The Stag hafted straight into the bolster, no botched rounding off. YVB indeed, you must be a very proud owner/custodian of it, rightly so.

Thank you my friend. HSB marketed the OVB “Our Very Best” brand, and I couldn’t agree more with your thoughts on this old swayback. I recently acquired it, and the gnarly stag is still making my heart skip a beat It’s an amazing period knife and a true survivor of fortune. Very few working men of that era would have tucked away a piece of this quality rather than carried and used it hard. The bold spear blade, deep-tailed bolster, and naturally massive stag all came together exactly as they should have. I feel very fortunate to be its current custodian.
