What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I have not carried a knife in exactly one week. Or much of anything else.
Last Thursday I received a total knee replacement. Started physical therapy the next day, and have my third session in three hours. First time putting on blue jeans instead of sweat pants, so to celebrate, I stuck two faithful old knives in my pocket.

Still quite a ways from being cleared to drive, so no reason not to be taking pain meds. I need them. First, I'll need to be able to walk without my walker before worrying about driving.
I put this off knowing we were getting a GSD puppy. Unfortunately, now at 9 mo. and 80 lb, and filled with puppy excitement at seeing Daddy, I cannot be in the same room with him til I get stronger.

Cut way back on my garden plans because of this, but worked like crazy getting some essentials planted while I still could.

Guess the responsible thing to do right now is practice guitar!🎸 And read some books. And take some naps.🥱 And do my PT exercises🤨
Good luck on your recovery. I’m 6 weeks away from having back surgery. I’m having a laminectomy done on three or so vertebrae. Dr. said it was gonna hurt like a hip or knee replacement. So…..

I don't envy you, but I know, if your back hurts, you hurt all over. I hope the surgery goes well. Surgeries aren't like they were years ago. Almost three years ago I had a kidney removed due to cancer. A robot did the surgery. The surgeon operated the robot, but the robot still did the operation.

Thank you! They tell me that a robot does many procedures on certain back surgeries. I’m curious to see if they use one for me.

I remember not too long ago, people with long, ugly scars, and long hospital stays after surgeries. When they removed my kidney, I ended up with four 1" stab wounds, where the robot did its thing, and a longer 3" incision, that they had to make to remove the kidney. I was home the next morning, and walking around the back yard. I wasn't walking very fast, but I was moving.

Hoping the best for you recovery after the knee replacement Jeff. I had my left knee done years ago and have been pleased since. We had our dog Coco at the time and danged if it didn't seem as if she felt something was wrong and kept a paws distance from me for a couple/three weeks.

It takes patience Jeff, but improvement will come faster than you can imagine.
My wife's mantra to me was one day at a time.
I still do my therapy exercises 2 years later, even though they are not needed.

We're driving to St. Paul, MN today to visit our daughter and son-in-law for a week in the house they moved into recently. (They suggested we bring "work clothes". I suspect we'll be helping clean the apartment they lived in previously and whose lease finally ends in June.)
