I rescued this pukko from a pile of old tools at a garage sale. It looked to be caked in rust but it turned out to be old dried oil or something loke that. I ground out some knicks on the edge and now it's ready for work again.

I'd like to present my Victorinox 1.5793. According to SAKWiki, this model is referred to as the 'Champion C'. It represents the transitional model between the original Champ (1952-1986) and the current SwissChamp. Production began in 1973 and it was discontinued with the introduction of pliers in 1985 (when the SwissChamp took over). It arrived in great condition; it only needed a bit of PolyWatch for the scales and a good oiling.

How to identify it? It does not feature pliers, the magnifying glass is made of gray plastic, the scissors use a screw instead of a rivet, it includes a Phillips screwdriver, and the reamer has no hole. Regarding the tang stamp on the main blade, the 'v' in Victorinox is not oversized (it is the same size as the rest of the letters), and the keyring attachment is on the opposite side compared to a modern SwissChamp.

This is what the Champ used to be...

I call mine The Lump. And I love it.
My then best girl, now my best wife found it on the quad at UI in 1978 and gave it to me.

We never feed our dogs table scraps or other human food, except for four things: organic hot dogs, and string cheese cut up and carried in a little belt pouch for training treats, peanut butter that goes into a big plastic ball ~ the halves unscrew so it can be loaded with a tablespoon of pb, and it has holes barely big enough for him to get his tongue in. Keeps him busy for awhile. And Greek yogurt. He's crazy for it, and we figure the pro-biotics keep his gut healthy. He gets a spoonfull on his kibble, and he gets to clean the container for Vik.

Slipped disc has been playing havoc with my sciatica since the end of March and making it difficult to stand and impossible to sit. Physical therapy finally had me back to an 8 hour workday two weeks ago (standing desks are great!), but then I ended up in the hospital to have my gallbladder removed last week. All that tomfoolery sort of re-wrecked my back, and while I'm recovering from the surgery I can't do any of the PT exercises.

So I've had repairs done, just not ones I'd planned on. Knee replacement is not 'til next year at the earliest.
