What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

One of my new favorite traditional knives, a No.9, very graciously gifted to me by 9blades :)

On a getaway for a few days in Big Bear, CA with these cherished companions... Pemberton and Eureka Jack.

Love the covers!

Forgot all of 'em except the usual back home for the week, so it's the Sheepfoot Charlow:

(There is a weird reddish brownish thing happening with the patina. It doesn't look exactly like rust, but I'm concerned. I tried rubbing it with a fine sandpaper and all that did was scratch it up. If anybody with more experience could give me some insight into what I should do I would appreciate it)

Carried one that is pretty user friendly, guess it's called a half congress since there are only two blades, Parker

Mr. Douk is cold and wet and very far from home. Best to keep his morale up through good honest labor -- to which end he is with me today, looking for instances of singular things that need to be turned into multiple smaller ones. (He is Le Sorcier after all, and this is one of his best magics.)

Beautiful photo, clever prose, brilliant post!

I've had that happen before and a little Bar Keepers Friend cleaned it right up. I have a big can of the powdered cleaner/polish for cleaning my sharpening stones but it worked great on my knife blade too. It's only a couple dollars for a big can so it might be worth a shot.

Thank you very much, that sounds like a useful product. I'm gonna look around for it.

It's an old loom shuttle from a Yorkshire cotton-mill Kris. Figured it was appropriate for a Barlow

...Worked in a cotton-mill all my life,
I ain't got nothing but a Barlow knife...

Here's a pic of one taken off the net.
