What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Hello!

SAK-Guy - thank you! The Waki is with me again today, since I picked it up from the Bladesmith this morning. ;)

Today, I am accompanied by this tiny fella though:

This timeless classic Alox Pioneer was with me today...

... it has a good appeal - at least to me :D

Do you have a before an after of the T'mater Peel? Does stabilized bone change color over time?

Ol' T'mater peel really hasn't changed color, as it was originally a little off-colored from the normal sawcut red bone. Bone takes dye differently, and this one is a good example. I haven't noticed any dyed bone changing color over time; perhaps it gets a little lighter in color but it seems fairly permanent on these and other brands and vintage knives.

Here's another shot when she was new and shiney!

Excellent choices there CC. I just got my antique yellow bone Radio knife last night and it's in my pocket today as well. The temps are dropping for sure, but it's Friday, and I see my Radio knife opening a cold one before too long : )

Sounds like the weather here is going to get cold, icy and snowy. Might need some amber colored items.

An exceptional choice for every occasion!!!!!!!

SAKS (ALOX esp) are near and dear to me.....

ALOX on ice today......

Thanks for the great story. I´m really glad your dad survived that inferno. Great looking Pioneer you found on the bottom of the box :)

I see have replaced it by a newer one, as it still has its keyring on it. They are addictive somehow, aren´t they. Being honest - I bought the very same Black Alox Pioneer for my child, that will be born in the beginning of February. The very first knife "Same Knife As Dad´s" ;)

Fine choice, Andi! I'll be carrying mine as well:

The Black Pioneer is a timeless classic I think. It´s a typical robust alox knife but still very elegant, I think. :)
