What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

The springs are mild, perhaps a 3 on a scale of 1-10. But, with the addition of a bit of oil they have a nice snap to opened and closed.
The pen and coping blade are smallish. I don't like fighting to open and close small blades, they win too often. So I'm fine with the milder pulls on this one.

I can feel there's some more grit to be removed. Once all the grit is out, they should be very nice, indeed.

These two today.

This 3 1/2" Queen split spring whittler with D2 blades and amber stag bone covers went into my pocket this morning as soon as my wife gave it to me. The blades were passably sharp, sharp enough for me to use it this afternoon to cut some twine to hold down a tarp. But, I'll be working on them this week to put a truly satisfactory edge on them.

I think I'm more partial to Queen amber stag bone than any other cover material I've tried. And the D2 makes for a great blade for every day utility cutting. The fit and finish is very very good.

I'll need to carry this awhile and get a feel for the Queen interpretation of the whittler pattern.

Note: What appears to be a gap between the springs at the right end is brass.

One of the best compact 3 blade knives currently available. Böker's version is not too bad either but it's serp shaped and 'only' carbon. I like the Queen knife in the Zebra wood too and the older WCSB. A very good looking pattern moreover.

Today, an older David Laguiole from the early 80s, 9cm. Bit approxomatif in finish but nice horn and devastatingly sharp carbon blade:D:eek:

Thanks, Will

^^ Sweet looking knife John! You've been showing some sweet Barlows the last few days :)

Thanks Duane! Switching to this sweet matching horn IXL today.

Ha just kidding. Found that crazy thing in the knife drawer in my house. My dad has strange tastes.

Since I'm at home I have em all with me, and I used my opinel some, but I'm carrying my charlow like always.

I already got myself a Christmas present, but I'm really wanting a farmer lock or boys knife in spear point. It worries me that people rarely post the farmer lock, especially with all the reports of party in other gec lock backs. If anybody has any experience with the farmer locks I'd love to hear it.

That's going to be real hard on pockets!
