Scagel Fruitport in ram's horn

Went back to an old friend today. Moore Maker does not get much attention on this forum, but this 5301 is every bit an equal to any of my GEC knives when it comes to build quality, fit, and finish.

Got the old Bulldog out for another thread and decided to carry it today.

I've had this knife for 10 years or longer. I picked it up on sale for about $20. I always thought it was a 440a or some such but after using it today on fresh fruit I find it's getting a nice patina. Yay!

I just quoted myself. Does this make me weird?

That spearpoint is really something. What material? Looks like a tiny gap between the pommel and the scale though, or is it just the pic?
Hope John doesn't mind me answering before he gets a chance, but... Those are horn handles. Personally, I'm quite fond of knives handled with horn -- buffalo or cow, or sheep of various types. It's not seen as often on American knives, though; more European makers use it.
Yes, there's a small gap there. These are old knives, and horn can sometimes shrink a little over the span of several decades. Certainly doesn't affect the functioning of the knife.
These two are some of my favorites that have been posted here, in recent memory. I just love 'em! Thanks for showing them, Chief! :D
