Thanks Alex! Information adds to our enjoyment of these old beauties and is always appreciated.

Broke out the tripod today for this unusual old OVB whittler.

I'd be willing to bet that this was made by NYKC. The punch is their patent, and I know of other OVB knives that were confirmed to have been made by them.

Tonight I had a little late night snack of summer sausage with my Northwoods Fremont.

Today I can welcome my Queen Utility WCSB in D2 back into the fold. After months of it being 'blind' (lost shield) Queen Cutlery kept sending me the wrong size :grumpy: and at last sent me a small selection of shields due to my nagging. Yes, one fitted and superglue gets it done.

These are very good slicers, a good counterpart to CASE's Slimline Trapper but with better steel. There's something of the Laguiole about these too.

I am carrying the modded Opinel #8 1890 anniversary edition my son hot rodded for me. It holds a great edge, is light in the pocket, and a wicked slicer.

My most attractive of knives....

It does not get enough pocket time, a fact I shall remedy by adding it to my Christmas cutlery 'load out' ;)

Giving the ebony Calf Roper a rest today.....not without serious debate. Taking the Pony to work.
