What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Utica / Kutmaster made a point of advertising that they used 'tungsten stainless' for a number of years, it's a not uncommon tang marking.

It's my day off today so I figured I needed to have a stockman in my pocket while I do little chores around the house. So I chose this one:

boker.jpg

It's an old Boker that belonged to my great-uncle. In the last year of his life, he lived with my grandmother and after he died she found it in his trunk. Not sure how old it is, but it's a great knife. The opening pull isn't as strong as I would like, but the backsprings are strong and it has good snap on all three blades. And it is sharp!

One of those chores is sharpening my new Queen. Well, I've gotten the main blade shaving sharp now, so it's on to the pen blade. My goal is to at least grind an edge on it before tonight and the make it sharp sometime later this week. It's getting there though.

That Boker looks like it aged well. Nice scales and a match strike pull

Judging from the wear on the shield, it was carried some, but the blades are still 100% full. When my grandmother gave it to me a few years ago it looked pretty much like it does today, I didn't have to clean any rust and I didn't even need to oil the pivots.

She doesn't know where or when her brother may have gotten it (he died about ten years ago and was well into his 90s).

I'm sure at least one member will know the approx. age of it. I honestly don't have any knowledge about Bokers.
I'm sure he would be happy to know that it went to a good home
