What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Does an old fixed okapi knife count as traditional. I don't fully know what makes a knife traditional. Would a 1970's buck lock back knife be traditional. When I think of traditional basically slip joints or fixed.

Okapi? Yes.
Lock Back? Yes.

We mostly count lock backs as traditional, as long as they are not one-hand openers and don't have pocket clips.

I've left to a subtle clue in this photo to help you guess who gifted me these wonderful J. Howarth Pen & TYNE knives yesterday ;)

Both these styles are a first.....can you believe, I didn't have a classic Sheffield penknife until yesterday? This is a really smashing example.
When I have the time, I shall take some more photo's to share the great build and quality of this knife and show off some more of the unique TYNE knife too.

A huge thanks to you know who :)

Long tiring day, but having this Fontenille-Pataud lockback Laguiole in Ram's Horn provided solace

Seeing your excellent picture reminded me i had one of those tucked away, so i dug it out and oh my arent they a joy to play with ? Such a smooth action and a grand little slicer, shame its an illegal carry where i live, but hey ho....

Thom, nice pair! Splash the other over some lamb chops and you'll find yourself a satisfied diner. That same fine fellow recently sent me a pair too, a pair of books mind you - about Sheffield and Eccalsall, where until recently my grandmother lived.

A true gentleman :)

I have my modified white owl seeing as it's Wednesday.

Thom, two knives to relish!! The TYNE is very interesting and I look forward to a more in depth look. Good on that special someone!

Mmmmm....sounds good. I just had it on m'fish'n'chips :)

Ah yes, he mentioned the books. I hope they help take your granny back.

I wish I could get along with my White Owl, its such a lovely pattern.
How do you find the spring on yours? I think mine is a bit weak for my tastes.

Indeed they are ;)

I do believe Jack has posted about these before. They are an interesting breed.

I get on much better having removed the bail. The spring is a little feeble for my taste too, but the comfortable cigar shape and the slimness make up for it.

Great pic, has my mouth watering! :)

I've kept meaning to post up a thread about them, but the floors all yours my friend :)

As I was kindly presented with a hand-made belt yesterday, to go with the buckle I won in NE Tim's generous giveaway a couple of months back, I thought I'd carry my Robeson Harness Jack today.

Great work on the belt and thanks again  Some great folks here :)

Jack
