Those are some venerable old knives you have there, Robin. Looks like they've both lived long and useful lives.

I had this old BSA beater on my belt today for gathering herbs in the local mountains. It belonged to an old uncle. The ricasso bears no mark, so I dunno who made it, but the carbon steel takes a wicked edge.

Western did quite a run of sheath scout knives, but I would think they would all be stamped. Maybe this one slipped through the cracks :D

For traditional knives, I generally carry a 194 OT Single blade liner lock trapper. Here it is with a new Kershaw Pack Rat

Actually, yes:rolleyes: really love this knife. it's small, almost tiny for my big hands but completely functional. great snap, and I really like the stop at 90 degrees. It's my first Case, next one will be in CV, perhaps a Humpback Whittler. don't know yet. Had the Sway Back with me all day long and even now. just had to confirm this claim, because it's so unobtrusive. but yes, it's in my right front pocket. where it belongs.

I've really got the hots for one of those myself. It is a thing of beauty, especially for a production knife and it should be super useful in the pocket.

PS folks. I'm reading this thread back to front, so you may see me dragging up some older stuff. I love these kind of threads....

Buck 301.
1997 model so that I could have the old flat ground blades instead of the post-2000 hollow grind.

Navy-issue Case 12031L electrician's knife. It has a slipjoint flat ground spear-point blade, and a liner-locking scraper-type blade with a screwdriver tip.

This one keeps finding its way to my pocket. I think it might be my new favourite pattern.

I'm seriously considering sending it to a knifemaker to get the delrin handle scales replaced with some nice wood. But I think the scales are part of the character of the knife, I'm not sure I want to tinker with it.

My Schrade 8OT found its way into my pocket again today. Yesterday it helped me fix lunch and dinner, let's see what it does today.

Today, CASE single blade Wharncliffe in Antique Bone which I was lucky enough to win in JAB's recent giveaway. Thanks Jason!

My GEC #72 Mini-Lockback Tidioute in Red Jig Bone.

And a Schrade 12OT Old Timer Peanut.

Right now, I'm not carrying a traditional slippie at all... *GASP*
I think my 2009 forum knife should be coming in today, so I'm purposefully leaving the pocket space open for her. ;)

This special order 'Blade Forums' - 'Traditional' sub-forum and custom Barlow pattern here is pretty special! And as it turns out, one of the finest Schatt & Morgan slipjoints I've ever owned!.
