Great picture, I'd love to hear your thoughts on comparative usage. I have and love my #22 but always wondered if the #09 would be more practical.

Although i have only had my #22 for one day i have to say that for me it is easier to handle than the #09 mainly because my hands are a bit arthritic which is why i got the stag #09 to take the place of the ebony #09, the stag being a bit bulkier and less slick than the ebony. I mostly use my knives to open mail, cereal boxes and some food prep mostly halving and slicing baguette, all of these little jobs the #09 handled fine but the #22 is better, mainly i think because the clip point blade is a bit bigger all round if you look at the rather poor picture you will notice that while the handle of the #09 is longer, being a penknife the main blade is shorter, i have thought ever since i got my first #09 that if GEC had made it a jack they would of made a superior peanut. As to being more practical if you need a knife that just disappears into your pocket and does not startle non knife folk when you deploy it then go #09, it will tackle most tasks as i have said before it is like a Jack Russell that thinks it is a Doberman, lastly the #09 has no half stop it never bothered me but may be something to consider.

Thanks a lot! Very insightful and helpful. That's some nice stag on your #09 though!

I'm carrying my one and only charlow today. I had been carrying my #22 for a long time and started to feel like the charlow was unnecessary. The cure is to carry and use it!

For the last few days I've been carrying my $1 swap meet find. A 1950s-60s Kutmaster "STAINLESS HANDLE" Equal End Jack. I found this knife on a table full of Chinese pocket knives it was covered in old grease, after wiping it off and spraying it with some Brake Klean this is what I would up with..

That's just like mine, except mine has the chrome worn off the blades. Nice, strong, compact little devil, isn't it?

Two today… considering which to let go. Which do you like more/better.

Two totally different styles.
Northwoods Fremont Jack
or
John Lloyd Mammoth Coke bottle?

Been backpacking since the end of last week. Thought I would snap a photo as I was unpacking to show what I carried with me knife-wise. A colorful bunch.
