What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Rob,

Most of the "collector" guides have a section on shields to some extent. I don't know that I've seen a reference that is comprehensive in terms of laying out all the various types and naming them.

Usually you'll see something just referred to generically as a "gimp" shield (for example) or similar which can take any number of incarnations. Then you have all these modified "federal" shields, bomb shields etc.

I mainly want to know so I can get the shield I want on knives I order. I figured out that the easiest thing is to just save a picture of the shield I want on a knife and send that to the maker.

Two actually: Northwoods Gunstock in D2 and Tortoise Shell Acrylic, and a Moore Maker 5-Blade Sowbelly.

The "backpocket" thread hooked me and I am carrying this one from Mike Zscherny today. (It is in my front pocket though.) :D.

:D

That sounds backwards carrying a backpocket in the front like that. When you open it does it then open handle up instead of blade up? :D

BTW A Great looking knife.

What would ya expect. I am a twisted and confused individual if I ever saw one. :D.

I have been busy on the computar and have not posted in a while. The past week or so I have not carried my favorite pattern. Needed a change. But it is one I am very fond of.

Nice looking stag on that Case Bill.

Buck 319 or a Boker Tree Brand Barlow at home these last couple of weeks. The Barlow is a nail breaker on the spear blade, and the main clip isn't much looser - just better leverage.

Nice one, Vince. Hard to beat a Bose on any occasion.

Today, my pocket finds this P.J. Tomes (small) "Bullet" Lockback in tow.
A nice light carry at 1 7/8 ounces. (Thanks to Don Hanson for improving the edge!)
