What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Well I just had to travel to another part of NSW to buy a car. I Overnighted with a an old mate and his family at a house by Lake MacQuarie. Of course buying a new car means celebrating afterwards doesn't it?
I took this one. Hope you like it Paul(pmew). Thats your Eureka and I think you'd find that beer to your taste. :)
cheers

That's a great pic and looks like a wonderful place to sit and relax a bit!

Love this color.
Love that one!

Heading out with a new to me Swayback Jack - thanks to Trand!

Thank you, I always love the color associated with this dish.

My wife and I make a dip usually once a week. Purple onion, Yellow peppers, Red peppers, Jalapeno peppers, roasted yellow corn, cream cheese, chili powder, cayenne pepper, shredded cheddar cheese! Makes a tasty meal and fairly healthy too.

Sounds good. One last question, do you have to warm that all in the microwave or just mix it all together?

Sorry I wasn't more clear.

Roast 1 can of corn over high heat with a splash of olive oil
dump hot contents onto 4oz softened cream cheese and add 1 tbsp cayenne and 1 tsp chili powder
finely chop 1/2 purple onion, 1 large red bell pepper, 1 large yellow bell pepper, 2-3 jalapenos (gut them if you prefer a milder taste)
saute these the same pan as the corn until softened.
Add to bowl with corn/cream cheese mixture and stir together evenly.
Pour entire mixture into pyrex dish and cover with shredded cheddar.
Bake until cheese on top is melted (10 minutes on 350 degrees)

Serve with yellow corn chips or baked pita chips. Enjoy

Haven't carried a traditional other than my trusty SAK for a while. Back in the saddle with the ebony RJ.

Beautiful concept and photo - not a bad knife either! ;):D

Primble, I just love the jigging on that Schrade!! I'll definitely have to try to replicate it when I get home! Great coloring too!

Pete - Beautiful patina on both knives and great photo too!:eek::)

Thank you, when I first moved I was happy to have my whole knife collection back so I could rotate, most have been in storage for a while, but after the first week of rotation, I have been plagued by some really fine grit getting into all my pivots of the knives I rotated through, so I decided until the grass comes in and grit settles down, I will only be carrying my Opinel, my med 6318pu stockman and my peanut. The Opinel #9 was a trusted companion for many years and has always served me well, the medium stockman with clip, sheepsfoot and punch adds some versatility and those of you who know me the peanut hasn't left my pocket in over two and a half years.

Great pictures, Pete!! I really enjoy them.

Thanks Gevonovich, I'm still using my cell phone, but after I missed some great pics of a Scarlet Tanager, and a Pileated Woodpecker that's been hanging around and showed up as specks on my cell, I've convinced myself that I should get a real camera more capable.

In honor of Independence Day, I decided to stay with the old girls the rest of the week. Today is this beauty from Syracuse Knife Co. The old Camillus brand from '35-'40. This was reworked and brought back to life with new scales. Glad someone saved her from the trash pile. These knives were the working tools of the men and women that built this country. Everyone of these old girls gives me goosebumps when I hold them and think of where they've been.
Tomorrow to round out the week, one my oldest and definitely a favorite. My Keen Kutter K440 SS from 1910-1920.

Lots of great knives and photos today, as usual. :) I'm carrying a diverse pair that were gifted to me by Jack Black. I'm loving the Lambsfoot on the Arthur Wright and the Lobster pattern is absolutely fascinating to me (my first Lobster). I hope everyone is having a good day.

Thank you Primble! I think the The Hatch Cutlery knife would be a fair trade for the Schrade....if you also toss in a red bone Case  Okay...even up. :D

Nice pictures Pete - interesting about the grit - what state do you live in now?

This Boker Swell End Jack arrived recently and will get carried for a while. Although an Alox Cadet will probably get called on for 4th of July weekend duty. Greater chance of large amounts of water being involved.
