What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I took the wife and son to go watch "Predators" today. Here is what the Menefee Trapper I had with me would look like from the Predator's point of view. :)

Sheds new light on the Hindenburg disaster...

Since this one just arrived yesterday and it's been sharpened, oiled and bathed, it's only fair that it get the bulk of carry this week. I'm really liking this one:

I got this one a few weeks ago and I can't put it down for more than a day.
Case Small Texas Jack. Amber Bone, CV.
SCARY sharp.

Stu, for a production knife, Case has done a good job on those. It looks absolutely great and they make it with CV to boot. Great little jacknife, good photo too. Thanks for sharing.

This thread may be one of the most economy stimulating things that has been done since the 30's. Probably more effective and longer lived than the "Cash for clunkers" program.

The way I see it, our friends that build custom and production knives have got to eat too...If we don't address making sure they can keep their jobs and take care of their families, who will?

(What a great rationalization for more give-aways and the purchase of more knives to replace 'em. ;) It's like Tony Bose says: "I've never seen a Brinks truck follow the hearse to the cemetery." If you can't take it with you you may as well enjoy it while you can.)

I'm carrying this one in my pocket right now. Case A62009 1/2 SS Barlow Appaloosa Bone.

Verrryyy Nice!! I hope I can dig up enough coin to get one of those.

Note sure which one I like best. Your tribal spear Elliott or Gus' ? Hmmm ... definitely yours! :)

You won't be disappointed, Ed.

Luciano, you are clearly a man of discerning taste. ;) :p

A true classic, Stu. If you haven't already, you may want to look for the larger size in CV (on the "92" pattern). They are great knives. I liked them so much I had Ken Coats make me a custom based upon his father's old knife (with a couple of changes).

I am a Headend Tech for Comcast and have been doing a lot of re-wiring lately so it's been my modified Old Timer 120T with a Wharnie. Been cutting a ton of wax string and it's absolutely perfect for it.

I will do that Elliott.
Carrying this one has me thinking I do need to get the Stockman in the same frame. They are 2 spring knives as well, so are they the same width? I wont be able to get to my case dealer (or should I say pusher?) until Monday but if they are basically the same with an extra blade I'm sold on trying one out.

Stu, I don't have a stockman in the "32" or "92" patterns...just the Texas Jacks (small and large). So I can't answer on the width. I'm sure one of the other fellas can help with that.

I have stock knives in the "18", "47" (70's vintage, 2 springs, not the current three spring incarnation) and "75" patterns.

One of these days I'll at least add the 6392 (stockman) as I feel like I should have one of those. ;)

Rough Rider 66. For 'just Chinese' it's a great knife, on par with any production lockback knife. I like it more than my buck 110...

Wow, that is one heck of a nice box. I don't think I've seen a better box in this entire thread. I'd take good care of that. :D

Amen to that--we don't need to loose any more jobs overseas.
I heard my Uncle say that he never saw a u-haul behind a hearse. Spend it while you can enjoy.
Love this forum, also the Buck and Schrade collectors.

So on the way out the door. I was thinking of my Borther Blues. To get that out of my mind,
I shoved this in my pocket. :D.

I'm just relieved you didn't choose something with a spey blade!:D

Would not work. All my spey blades are kinda small. :D

Seeing as the French did help us in gaining our independence way back when and today is their Bastille Day, I decide to carry my often neglected Forge de Laguiole brand knife.

 I guess I haven't been paying attention lately...

What the heck is that and where did it come from ???? I see a Case tang stamp, but that don't look like no production knife. :D

I LIKE IT... A LOT
