This morning, I worked a lot of the wear away, from years of being carried alongside keys and coins, which had scarred up the shield and bolsters on this fine old knife.
Also cleaned up and polished the bone slightly.
The blades are next up.:D

Back to work! :)

I'm at a loss for words, so...:joyous::welcoming::adoration::cheerful::eagerness::glee::excitement::applause:

This same trio for over a month

And I almost always have this GAK Jack sent me, it's part of my outdoor kit, so if I have my canteen ( which is always ) it's with me, it's a permanent resident in one of the side pouches.

Beautiful knife Gevo and that shield is like out of this world!:)

I missed out on the 3rd cut stag single clip this time around (too far down on the waiting list).... :( Carrying this one to help me feel better.

Again today…

I like that knife Jennifer - who is the maker? I sure would not want to be an old "Wilson" around your parts. I'd be whacked up and stitched up into a knife pouch in a whip stitch! ;):D

Stephen - nice choice you made today and glad you liked MY ole knife! :D

Thanks for all of the Congratulations last Saturday fellas, it was a great day!

Carrying a non GEC for a change today:

Nice Pete:thumbup: your trio will handle anything thrown it's way. I had the good fortune of winning an almost identical GAK from Jack as well, it resides in the center console of my work van and comes in handy on an almost daily basis:thumbup:

Not sure where your top picture of the Stockman went?

Beautiful! Your old knives look better than most of my new ones. Any chance you could do a show and tell sometime?

Primble I really like the treatment on the bolsters. Do you finish them with a particular grit of sandpaper? It looks great and I'm going to try to duplicate it on an old German Eye moose.

Thank you Bob and I will try to think up a way to do that sometime. :)

Thank you Gevo - actually not my knife - playing little tricks today - wrecking this one for a good friend here on the forum. ;):D

On this one, because the bolsters and shield were so pecked up from carrying with keys and coins, I started with 220 grit, then 320, then 400, and finished with 800 grit. Many times, I just start with 400 or 800 and finish with 800 grit. I always do it all by hand and take my time, use masking tape where needed. ;)
