What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thanks for the compliments on the Barlow, gents. It's one of my favorites, purchased directly from Charlie. My most-carried Charlow.

Here is another photo.

This fella arrived in the mail today so I gave him a couple of strokes on the bottom of my coffee cup and popped him into my other pocket so as not to scratch my #15.

Hi Ken. Not much in the way of background. This knife is still in production and available easily for a very modest cost. There are also other models that come with a can opener or cap lifter etc. It's 3.5 inches closed and mine has just a 2 and 3/8 inch sheepsfoot blade. It came in a box that proudly claims it's made by Joseph Rodgers & Sons Ltd of Sheffield, England with a certificate of authenticity. Fit and finish is pretty decent with just a slight hint of a gap at the backspring. It arrived sharp enough but I gave it a few licks on the coffee mug and now it slices paper easily. All in all, I'm pretty please with it for something that costs less than 20 bucks.

Carried this one today

Very nice sir

Jack - very interesting old knife. I'm not familiar with Alfred Blackwell... guess I'll have to do some more research. :)

Thanks Stephen, it's the only one I've come across, but one of my favourites, despite the scars. I think the knife was run over at some point, but there's still not a sign of a gap or blade-play, and the blades take the sort of razor-sharp edge that the old ones so commonly do

Missed this earlier, Jack. My apologies. Thank you, my friend!

You're more than welcome Mr G. It was easy for me to spot since I have one too ;) Nice little knife :)

Going with ebony and ivory bone today :)

A 'balanced diet,' to be sure. :)

Today, again, as almost always now, my companion of days:

I have bonded deeply with this simplest of knives, happily so.

Very nice Linus (sorry missed this earlier) By coincidence, I posted a pic of one of the 3 bladders in the Military Clasp Knife thread earlier.

Thanks Jack! It's my first English knife and I must say I like it....A LOT. I saw your 3 blader in the other thread. I was actually dithering between the one and three blade models but settled on this 'cos I just prefer singles.

I was also looking at a Lambsfoot and a Farmer's Sheepsfoot by A Wright and Sons. But from reading the various threads on these, it seems the fit and finish are a bit of a lottery and I'd be better off inspecting the knives first hand instead of buying online. So I guess those will have to wait for now.

Uh oh. If my wife sees this picture, I'll have to head to Europe to find one of those for her!
