What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Very nice old NYK knife Gev. The wood looks like Rosewood in the picture. Either way, I like it.:)

Thanks, Mark! I had a flashlight illuminating the grain. Well, I tried anyway, very little light this morning.

Daddyo

The prettiest thing I ever did see!!:D

My faithful Diamond Jack today:

And the Nomad on my hip for a morning hike:

This fella arrived in the mail today so I gave him a couple of strokes on the bottom of my coffee cup and popped him into my other pocket so as not to scratch my #15.

Nice one dude! This is my genuine issued one circa 1953! Bear trap springs and the iconic 'oil the joints' stamped on the pivot!

Cool! Your post reminded me that I was issued one of those when I was doing my national service in Singapore in 1987. A 45min dig in my gear and.....ta...da!

Looks a bit worse for wear but it HAS been 27yrs. I might polish it up and add it to my display case.

Vic Soldier and and '80s PSK modded up to look like...something. Since I did the mod myself, I'm wearing rose colored glasses, and they're telling me it looks like the Marbles' I've drooled over since I knew they existed.

That is excellent Linus. I love the mechanical feel of the knife and the oiling instructions stamped into the stainless is a nice cherry on top!

I missed out on the 3rd cut stag single clip this time around (too far down on the waiting list).... :( Carrying this one to help me feel better.

The SAK is a Pioneer in my eyes as it has a sprintring and the shield has another shape than on the Soldier´s model. I don´t want to be too picky, just a thought to add.

Great outdoor setup, btw. I love those leather stacked handles on the american outdoor-fixed-blade knives :)

Yer fine, it may be, but it was my understanding that the pioneers had saws  or was that the farmer? Thanks for correcting me, my mistake.

Gevonovich - Based on your post last night I was hoping to see a beautiful old example of the pattern and your New York Knife Co. Eureka Jack is just outstanding! :applause::applause::applause:

Different pattern, but I'm carrying something with a few old 'curves' today as well.

No mistake - Farmer had the saw, Pioneer the splintring and the Soldier had none of these items. ;)

Totin' this old Cattaraugus Dogleg Jack around with me today, when I am not working on it. :D

Current condition and changing by the hour:

This morning, I worked a lot of the wear away, from years of being carried alongside keys and coins, which had scarred up the shield and bolsters on this fine old knife.
Also cleaned up and polished the bone slightly.
The blades are next up.:D

Back to work! :)
