What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I have a Camillus Buck 303 and a Buck Buck 303 that are quite different. Schrade made them a little differently too. Might be the case with 30xs in general.

Interesting, thanks for the info. My Bucks are all stamped Buck so I assume they're not contract ones? My 309 sawn delrin has stainless pins not brass.

Today an Old Lag is coming for a walk with me. This one I've had more than a quarter of a century, a bit crude 'approxomatif' in finish but the horn has aged well and it cuts like nobody's business. Fearsome snap too  It's a small one 9cm/3.5cm but that's my preference in Lags.

Not sure how I ended up four pages behind on this thread, but you folks have been posting some great pics

I'd also be interested to read more about that Soviet Airforce knife

Carrying these two today :)

Nice Case/Bose Jack Black!

Carrying a 1990 Buck built 303 this weekend - flat grinds, three springs, and brass liners. OH

Buck 300 series knives; some built by Schrade (early), then by Camillus, then by Buck in CA, now by Buck in ID (even some variations built off-shore). Can't cover it all here, but it is in the Buck sub-forum contained piece by piece in various threads. Camillus built the greatest variety of patterns, followed by Buck over the years - never were all of them in production at the same time. OH

I have been struggling to buy a buck 303 for ages. One day, if I have enough time, I might document my online struggle which is embarrassingly akin to a Tolkien saga. I had hoped one would arrive this week, but today I received yet another rather frustrating email from a customer service department. Ce la vie.

Edit: I forgot to mention; that's a fantastic example. I love the full flat grind!

Thank you very much OH, it was a thoughtful gift from Stephen ('Old & In The Way) :)

Look forward to reading your Quest tales Paul ;) Hope one turns up soon, classic knife

I forgot to post this too! I'm evidently having a one of them days.

Today's carry.

<Not gonna lie. This intrigues me. Might you be able to give more info? And more pics about this guy?>

By weight similar to Buck 110. Back lock. Cutters, canned opener, sleeves extractor. Comparative photos later ...

I've been bitten by the alox bug...picked up a Cadet on Saturday afternoon, picked up a second one that evening because I liked it so much. Ordered a Pioneer on Monday, and now have two more of those on the way as well...yikes! Thankfully all of that is still just about the same price as a fancy covered GEC so I don't have to feel too bad. These things are just crazy good knives for under $30 each.

Carrying the black Pioneer today, can't decide if I like it better than the Cadet yet, time will tell.

Yeah, they are my favorite Vic with the Electrician a distant 2nd. I have never seen the fit an finish consistency that Victorinox are able to hold on even knives priced 3x what the Cadet is. There is never a question if you are going to get a good or bad one. I may or may not have lost track of exactly how many Cadets I have floating around the accumulation.
