What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Couldn't decide between these two today, so I grabbed both.

I changed up this evening. On Friday my wife turned 30 (shhhh! Don't say it out loud) and tonight the village threw a surprise party for her. I changed to this one which I consider 'Claire's knife' because it was released on the day I proposed - which is why I bought it.

I have had lots of beer and food. Then some Talisker, some Bruichladdich laddie ten, some Port Charlotte then finished with a very nice Bunnahabhain darach ur. Suffice to say I'm a bit pished. I'll have a sore head when I wake. Night night! :)

Yatsunil beautiful knife is that lacewood??

Yes I think it is. I found it on the auction site, put in a bid and promptly forgot about thinking I would not win. Was surprised to wake up the next morning to find that my bid was top by a dollar or so. This knife is growing on me fast. I just like how it looks.

That looks good, and even better that it was your father's.

What are the scales made of please? They look like they might be ivory?

Sorry I only just saw this post .

I don't actually know what they are made from .
I suspect they are ivory , but don't know how to confirm it .
They seem to have longitudinal lines running through them almost like a type of grain ?
Here is a previously posted picture , but it shows the scales a bit better .
To my knowledge my father owned this knife for more than sixty years .
