What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

You got a little moss on the back pin there. I had to blow it up to figure out what that was. For a second there it looked like you had tried to replace that pin with a screw for some reason and gunked up the wood around it.

As it is, that's a real nice looking knife with all the pins in their proper place.

I didn't even notice but that is actually an ant. How come you never notice these things when your hitting the shutter button? I didn't even notice it when I posted the pic. :o

For my favorite teacher.

scruffuk - gorgeous photo!

Paul - I can see why that ebony Barlow would be your favorite. Very nice.

Jack - nice trio again today.

Andi - very nice patina on your 23.

Smithhammer - outstanding photo! Your Eureka Jack looks right at home in that photo.

Erik - very handsome Soddie Jr.

payton206 - nice photo.

Primble - having seen what that one looked like before you Primble-ized it, all I can say is "wow"!

No Agenda - congrats on the new acquisition. The red saw cut bone really looks great outdoors.

gmarthur - very nice. The Case/Bose Norfolk is on my wish list.

willydigger - nice pairing between the Charlow and Whitman.

Pete - the Northwoods Presidential looks right at home in the woods. :) Not sure what that 2nd photo is, but I like it.

Thank you Paul. :thumbup::)

Stephen - love the bone Remington - looks like you are on an old knife roll !;):)

I also carried this Trevor Ablett Barlow, of Sheffield - which Paul (pmew) gifted me and the leather wallet, which Jennifer (Jone) gifted me. Thank you both - so very much!!!

Thanks for the nice words, fellas. This one is gonna see some real use.

Nice looking Ablett, Primble.

Linus - nice photo. Looks like you're already developing a nice patina on your Stew's Blade.

Rsmith_77 - nice photos!

Paul - thank you!

Primble - glad you like the Remington. Looks like you're on a bit of a roll yourself. The wallet and Trevor Ablett are both really special. You might be in need of a good pair of suspenders yourself though if you keep trying to carry so many treasures at the same time. ;)

I carried my sowbelly experiment today. I don't take photos every time I carry a knife, so a "file photo" will have to do for now.

Short story (not too many words as I don't want to muck up the photo thread)

Earlier this week I went to help some neighbors down the street that my family has grown close to in the last years. While there I happened to pull the old Sword Brand and the husband asked to see it. I told him the story and he says to me "do you collect these things?" I responded with a smile and said I collect all things interesting. He proceeds to remind me of the elderly woman that we helped them move earlier in this year and tells me she had some of her husbands old knives and that I could have them. He descends the staircase and returns moments later with a wooden case (almost briefcase size). The knives within were of all makes and styles. Many were so heavily used and abused I don't think they will be functional at all... ever again. Some however really caught my eye and interest. I will share them as I clean and freshen them before carrying them. This interesting model was one that caught my eye.

At first I thought it was rusted closed, but then realized it has no nail nick. This Imperial has a very unique gravity pin locking system. It reminds me of the Protech Chiabatta I used to own.

Goes to show it always pays to be helpful to neighbors eh Landon? That's a very nice knife. Is that a crown lifter built into the blade or just part of the locking system? Nice white covers too!
