What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Carried the white owl yet again.
today was, well not a good day. Today i had to lay to rest my oldest cat. He was 13 and i've known him since birth. We found out last week that he had cancer and it was pretty aggressive. The vet originally said we may have had 1 - 2 months, but today it became obvious that he was suffering and in pain so the decision was made :/

I did have to use the knife today, I used the white owl to cut his favorite blanket to lay him to rest with, so there is that i suppose ...

That's terrible to hear.... just over a year ago we had to do the same thing with the cat I had known all of my life... Funny thing is, I still remember the knife I had in my pocket, and feeling how helpless I was not being able to 'fix' anything, which is always my first gut instinct.

I've been carrying it again this last week and probably at least until Friday, which is when I will be getting my 21st gift, a Ken Coats easy opener.

Very nice Charlows and other knives all the way up the page!! :thumbup::)

I had to go for a little more heavy duty today - some steel to be cut.

Hmmm - one of these will have to work!!?? :confused::confused:

How did you get your Case Peanut dark like that? Is that from long time pocket carry?

It got quite dark by itself, over the few years i carried it, but this dark it just got these days,
The story is, one side of the scales was lighter in color, so i thought i'd try something after reading some experiments done by some of our members here.
I didn't want to boil it with tea, and i didn't have any dye, but i also heard coffee can do wonders (except waking me up :D that is ) , so i made a cup of strong coffee, mixed it with some instant coffee, and put the peanut inside for more than 10 hours. After, i dipped it in mineral oil and left it for another 10 hours or so.
The lighter side is still lighter, but a bit darker than before, and the darker side looks much darker now.
Here it is on that side :

The patina is a side effect to the whole thing, it had a nice one before, but the coffee changed it a bit.

jacktrades_nbk - very nice. :thumbup::)

Thank you :D

I've been away for a few days and haven't had much of a chance to catch up. Some things haven't changed - still lots of beautiful knives and photos being posted; but other things have changed - Primble's gone Platinum? :D:thumbup:

Hopefully, things will slow down and I'll be able to post more in the days to come. In the interim, I'll just say that I hope everyone's been doing well and that I miss you guys (and gals). Just the one post for now though with my carry for today.
