What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Case XX redbone Peanut, 1940-64 era, in pristine, mint condition ( looks to have never been cleaned nor sharpened ).

I already had a beautiful 64-69 redbone Peanut, but, this one takes the cake, to my eye. NO color modification during processing (in case you wondered).

I call this one "Crimson Tide" in color. ;)

Geez that's unreal. Now why can't Case come out with dye jobs like this? There's no love being put into the dye process these days from Case.

That is a beautiful example of a Peanut, Primble.

Today I'm carrying a Northwoods Forest Jack, which I refer to as "The Pickle", along with a Case Mini Trapper.

Thank you Brisket and I think you picked the perfect name for that knife - it is a beauty and surely pickle green.:)

This one came in the mail today and went right into my pocket. I accumulate GEC 15s, but I was missing a single clip. To me this one looks like it needs to work, so it is riding solo today and for the foreseeable future (you know, until the forum knife shows up...). My hope is to work this thing until it looks like one of Modoc Ed's ebony 15s! I'm definitely a fan of the clip blade, I find the fine tip and the belly really useful day to day. Now, let's get it dirty ;)

Sporting my old SAK Recruit with a serrated main blade. The little Ti toothpick I made for it is being used for swashbucklin' by the lanyard pirate. :p

@ Primble you make every knife look beautiful but when you shoot your CASE red bone knives I kinda end up trance like....stunning my friend, absolutely stunning:);)

Lots of stories as to why they can't get the color any longer, I suppose the regulations that banned certain chemicals or dye ingredients is the most likely. Might be similar to the rich colors and pigments in the old oil paints and stains, which used to produce much richer browns and reds. :o:thumbdn::o

Looks to be a very nice every day carry knife.:)

Primble that is a beauty of a P'nut.

I just acquired it Brett and I was stunned by the beauty of the bone, when unwrapping it.:eek::)

Thank you for that Paul - I love the old red bones and this one sure did not disappoint.:) I actually reduced the color saturation by -5 on this one to make it look the same as in hand. ;):)

I have a few other pretty red bones, but, I think this one has the richest color of any I have ever had.

@Primble... Again beautiful. Not always able to comment, but I had to take time to do so today! Not really a Case guy (I know I need to keep learning), but this one, wow!

Here is what I carried along side two other blades made by the same maker that I could not show here. Love this!

Thanks. The knife helped with a few things on my homemade photo tent so I decided to make it the first subject shot there.

Trimmed the parchment paper and the tape on the top cross piece. The biggest challenge was moving enough stuff on the bench to make room for it.

Thank You for the pic of your new "tent" My next project ;)

That is awesome. :D I agree.
Like the painting, but I would just sell it for more knives. Ha. I know that makes me uncultured, but there it is.

I have always enjoyed seeing that one posted Todd. It reminds me of another masterpiece.

That is indeed a gorgeous knife! Nice catch on the parallel with the painting - both are almost hypnotic (not to be a punk or anything, but the painting is actually by Van Gogh… :) )
