OOOoooohhhh! One day, when I grow up and can track down an old Case Jack that I like, I do so hope that it looks like that one :):)

I'm living proof that you don't need to grow up to accomplish that wish.

I've got my Jerry Halfrich Small Rounder in my pocket today. 3 5/8" closed with a CPM 154CM blade that is scary sharp with a nice thin edge. I really like this knife!

Gary, I think Nessmuk would approve your choice! (I know I do!)

For my part, I've got my Ken Erickson stockman in pocket today. At 3.75" it's a joy to carry and the blade selection just makes it incredibly useful!

Elliot, that is a great knife! Ken always does a nice job, and I love the blades on that stockman ,and the bone is beautiful. I am sure you enjoy carrying that one.
For my part I am carrying a GEC Northfield Big Jack in Burnt Stag.

Heck Elliott, that stockman is simply a joy to look at! :)

Thank you both.

Ken builds a great knife and beyond that, builds a great knife to the specifications you had in mind...size, blade profiles, bone color and jigging, etc.

I'm doubly blessed by being able to call him a dear friend.

I'll second that. That's a fine looking Stockman Elliott. The color on that bone is really nice!

There's a bunch of great knives posted here gang. It's really a treat to see them all. Thanks for showing them.

Magnificent Stockman, Elliott, and Gary, Wow - that Halfrich small Rounder is my grail knife . I've lusted after one of those since its introduction, and yours is one of the nicest examples I've seen.

Rick you'd probably like the fixed blade version as well. ;)
(And thanks again for the good words, guys.)

I had nothing to do with brainstorming the design of the frame of Jerry's "Rounder" but I did suggest the blade profile to him. I'm really pleased that it turned out to be so well received.

Well, today I'm wearing the same pants as yesterday around the farm and thus have the same knives - Jani's SAK Spartan and the amber bone mini-copperhead that this thread was instrumental in "enabling". - Ed

I have this guy in my pocket, along with my tribal spear. I don't like the look of "new" stag, so I've been giving this guy some extra attention, to get him to look a bit more mellow. I've discovered that carrying a stag knife in the pocket with my keys and change, it seems to "age" the stag nicely. It seems to be working on this knife so far! It's a 2007, and was still "new in box" until last week. The scales were some kind of thirsty- you wouldn't believe how much mineral oil they sucked up!

Oh, and Elliott, congrats in your 11k post!

Well now Ladies and Gents,

I had this one land in the Post Office Box this afternoon. She's an old vintage Dog-Leg Jack slipjoint knife pattern from way back when. But, she's been produced most recently. I very much really like these old pocket knife patterns and to tell you all the truth I wasn't expecting much when I pre-ordered her up little more than a week ago. I have owned 1930's S&M, Queen, and other vintage USA offerings from the early 20th century not to mention several custom mades as well that I have used..

I must confess I am way more than pleasantly surprised by what I have received. :)

Fit and finish is way above and beyond what anyone would expect from any production slippy. Nice solid blade half-stops, no side to side blade wobble, great blade snap with loud echoes.. And well, the rest you may just judge for yourself from the pix..

Me, I just slipped her into my right hand jeans watch pocket to use from now on and see how she holds up to my typical EDC tasks.. I'll let you know.
