What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

It was a stressy week. I went home today and took a sleep on the couch ;)
During this last day the Mighty GEC #66 Serpentine Jack was with me

... I will slow down a little tomorrow while processing firewood at a friend´s forest.

Thanks Gev, glad to hear your settled in?

Have a great Weekend my friend!!!

Settling in but soooo much more to do. It's a work in process but it is fulfilling to do all the work yourself. I hope you have a great weekend too, my friend.

Sometimes it good just to take a nap, Andi! I may do the same:D Your trusty 66 is getting a nice patina! Love the pocket watch.

Finally got setup in my new home. I sure have missed a lot and have some catching up to do...but alas much work to do as well.

Good luck with everything Gev, you did well to carry that stump ;) PM your new address when you get time, I have a few bits of scrap for you my friend ;)

Thank you Jack, I love to see that Old Boker make it out of the Shoe Shop's display case it was sitting in and be put to good use:thumbup: I still believe there's a tie between Boker and Remington with that frame in particular;)

I love the story behind it Paul, you did such a great job restoring it, it's very well-loved here :) Yes, I think there's something in that Remington-Boker link my friend

You have been well-served by the faithful 66 during this past month Andi. Have a good weekend pal

Thank you very much, my friend. I could not leave my beloved stump behind...lol. I brought all the stumps just not all the boulders..well maybe a few;)

I will email you about the address tonight

The etch is almost gone already, but the little harlequin is appropriate for the coloring.

Well now, ain't that a beaut? "Little Harlequin," indeed. :D

I'm carrying the bottom knife in this picture, a first-run TC Barlow in ebony:

As for the top knife, a Boy's Knife of the same generation?

R.I.P.

It was no longer mine, and Evan does fantastic work, but I'm stricken all the same, surprisingly so.

Sarah, I'm sorry. I didn't consider that you might have some sentimental attachment to the knife. Please know that it wasn't my intent when I bought the knife from you, and it wasn't a decision I took lightly. My condolences.

Bleh (if I may call you, "Bleh"? heh), having already admired your example of Evan's work, I was simply publicly noting my response to the revelation of the blade source, as you drew my attention to the blade in your own public post.

I know you bought the knife because you wanted that knife at the time, and I also know that it was very simply no longer mine (obv!). A fair deal all around!

We all enjoy knives in so many different ways; revisit any conversation about whether to use a given pattern or keep it pristine as just one example in which many different convictions are brought to bear over the same object(s)!

I become inordinately attached my knives, especially those that I use. Or is it, 'ordinately'? ;) I also care about the hands and hearts and boldness required to take chances on producing each new pattern at GEC, for better or for worse.

I am neither furious nor feeling scorned (waves at Markesharp), simply learning more about myself in and through my growing response to your revelation (not because of your or Evan's actions, but because I knew the knife in question), and refining my thoughts regarding this new wave of disassembling top-quality knives for other use-- a deepening understanding of my own boundaries, regardless of where others find their own lines.

Onward. :)

Speaking of which:

Dang, Case does blue well.

HUNH? You lost me at "revelation". ;)

Very eloquent, self-aware, and self-assured Pertinux... onward indeed. Now, whose got another pretty knife to ohh and ahh over!

Freshly sharpened and stropped to cut some pecan pie, love this time of year but my pants are getting tight.

I love mine, as far as the half stop I think they rounded the edges to help with the strong spring. I love the strong spring and the thwack if opens and closes with. As soon as my ram's horn comes in I'll have tough decision on which one will stay. Might keep them both lol.

I have a 2015 IRJ in ebony. I love it, but mine came pretty off-centered. It's not rubbing the liner, so I'm fine with it. But aside from that small gripe, it's beautiful and feels perfect in hand. I agree, the strong spring is great. Can't wait to see pics of that ram's horn!

Chief, is that mammoth ivory? Who did the mod/customization? Is that homemade pecan pie? Ohhh...... It's a good thing I'm sittin' down. I think my legs are turnin' to jelly...

Heck, why not! I'll be collecting a few variations myself! :)
