Thanks Jeff :) I'm hoping it'll stop bouncing down long enough for me to make it to the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds, and then off to try and find this historic (but very well tucked-away) pub - http://www.gardengateleeds.co.uk/ - via an attractive section of the Leeds-Liverpool canal and the River Aire

Well, Jack... Did you find your way to the Garden Gate? How was it? And the museum? Would you recommend these spots to an American tourist in Leeds? (I'm planning a trip for the summer or autumn, to er...explore traditional knife totin' in Britain.)

Boy that's nice Gev:thumbup:

Thank you, my friend! Cut some boxes and fashioned a piece of trim.

Gevonovich - another beauty. Fantastic jigging on that old Walden.

Much appreciated, Stephen! I really like this knife.

I love that picture, Duane!

Thanks Woodrow, Gev and Jeff. I wish I could take credit for the photography, it is from the man himself, Primble. :)

Is that a Swedish maker by any chance? Brukskniv is a Swedish word anyway. :p

No, Sir. That´s a maker of Good Ol' England - but the blade is of swedish steel and he says it is a working knife, so Brukskniv seems to be a good name for it. A wonderful tool, in many ways. I love it as it is.

Jack, that pub looks amazing. I really need to start traveling and see more of this great world. I hope the weather turned better for you.

After finally getting my car fixed yesterday, today I can relax a little. Nothing like some good reading and a hot cup of coffee to start the morning.

Thanks Jeff, looks like some good reading my friend, and a great-looking knife

Thanks Stephen, nice to see that Lambsfoot. Hope you're having a lovely weekend :)

Hope the hike is wonderful...looks like it going to be. Todays carry is working on a favorite pair for you, I'd say:D I see why completely.

Thanks Gev, yes the ebony Lambsfoot is definitely becoming a firm favourite.

There were some showers, and a lot of wind (so much so that some of the bridges were closed), but I made it OK. Unfortunately, I left my camera on the kitchen table at home, which was very annoying. The Royal Armouries is a very interesting museum, but if you have limited time to spare, I think any knife buff would enjoy visiting the Sheffield museums more. The Garden Gate is a Grade 2 listed building and rated as Yorkshire's most beautiful pub, but it's in the middle of a very run-down and unattractive area. In contrast, if you visit York, you can go to many historic pubs, which are all relatively close to each other. Let me know if I can help anyway Scott, and in the meantime here's a stock pic of the Garden Gate interior

Nice knife Andi. I have plans to see Thom this week and will berate him for his absence! ;)

Thought I'd carry the forum knife today, along with the ebony Lambsfoot I'm quite taken with. Have a great Sunday everyone :)

Jack

Sounds like you made a good day of it yet Jack. Always enjoy reading of your travels and seeing the knives that you tag along with, excellent pair today for sure

I cant decide between my new arrivals so I will take both along with me today. My 6 year old Ashley loves the Forest jack. She is a knife knut in the making and I am rubbing off on her too much. She came to me this morning and said she wanted to make a trade with me. I asked her what kind of trade she wanted to make and she said her yellow rose 66 for my forest jack.....lol, to cute. She is certainly on her way and for now I told her no. I don't think I could relinquish the Northwoods to her at some time, it is a grail in the wharncliffe category in my opinion. Maybe I need to get another though lol

Thanks for the kind words, my friend! Please tell Thom the very best regards from me. :)

The Brukskniv was so plain awesome performing today... I just went back home from a long walk in woods and rain/snow.
