What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Being ill at home. I got the stupid flu my wife and son got last week. :(
So the Gerlach, Poland knife your very own Jack Black gifted to me some time back came in duty to some house-medicine. It peeled an ginger-root and I made some "strange" tasting, hot tea out of it. It should help like an antibiotics... we´ll see ;)

... an amazing working knife, you gifted me there, my friend.

My pleasure Andi, I hope you're feeling better soon

You might try some raw garlic, too, for that flu.

Yes, and maybe some chilli too

Pete
That's a beautiful damascus knife! Batten down the hatches, my friend!!

Be safe Pete (all our members on the East Coast) "snowpocalypse" that's the next big movie for the SYFY channel Pete
Paul and Gev, I think I was in a snow vortex, it was still snowing when I awoke at 4:00am today after countless hours of pushing back on Mother Nature ( she is fickle ) most of yesterday digging out my generator half dozen times, intake and exhaust vents on my boiler and hot water tank, and headed back out at 4:30am to find another 9", I'm finally done, with my driveway, road, and paths to propane tank, generator and doors, few minor setbacks along the way nothing a flat bar and a persuasion tool (hammer) couldn't fix, I am done, peanut and the Gec 47 F&F were in pocket yesterday, but tools of choice were shovel, snow blower and Jameson, but now I'm planting myself down with just my peanut and the Boker 240, for the rest of the day, I know my girls want to go play in the snow but if I let them I don't think I'd find them until spring.

Staying around the office today so it's safe to carry my Granddad's Case. Being the third generation to carry it makes it very special every time I get to drop it in my pocket.

Due to the graciousness of a fellow member Stephen (old & in the way), one of my all time favorite knives is back in my pocket today. I could not be happier. :D Thanks again Stephen!

Thanks for the kind replies and wishes, screened torch & Jack - much appreciated. But on raw garlic my wifey is no big fan of it. Even when I sleep in the same room like she  - chillies should be more accepted ;)

But if it doesn´t getting better tomorrow I gonna come with the big calibers - black raddish and raw garlic :foot: :foot:

That's funny that's who I was thinking of ( DP) as I was carving out my paths, my wife always says I'm going to be just like Dick Proenneke when I'm older.....than I am now :-D 3+ feet it's up to my chest, I'm not a tall guy 5'7", but it is pretty deep, more coming at end of week...good times

Pete

We tried that but dad is certain it ended up in a bale of hay that was loaded on a truck to Texas. It's all good... he now carries one of my grandfather's old Case knives.

Texas you say? Hmmm.... I'll be right back, gotta find a metal detector. ;):D

I reground a broken blade on this old Kutmaster and am putting it back in service today.

You too Pete, you deserve to kick back now my friend :)

Looking good Gev, I forgot you had that one. Scruff is OK, I had a meal and a couple of pints with him a fortnight ago, and he texted me the other night to say how much he is liking the Joker I gave him. He keeps saying he's coming back...

Great-looking knife and a nice gesture

I have enjoyed carrying this Crownlifter. However, I think I will carry my all time favorite...NF 77 tomorrow.

Oooh-- noice. What's the handle material? I think I may like it even better than the wood I've seen on others' Jokers.

Cheers P:)

It's bull horn, I like its tactile nature and translucent qualities! This one winked at me from a shop window, since a bad experience with a Joker (almost a 'how many things can we get wrong!' kind of knife!) I had been steering clear. This one more than makes up for it:)
