What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Sharp as a mother in laws tongue too!

Now then Les Dawson! :D

It's bull horn, I like its tactile nature and translucent qualities! This one winked at me from a shop window, since a bad experience with a Joker (almost a 'how many things can we get wrong!' kind of knife!) I had been steering clear. This one more than makes up for it:)

A nice knife indeed Sam  If you don't mind me asking, what was wrong with the other - or maybe what was right?

:D, that might be easier. It opened and closed (just!). The wood covers were, uneven, poorly finished and there were gaps between them and the liners. The blade had uneven grinds and was so off center it rubbed one of the liners. Finally, the back spring was very proud when the knife was closed and not much better in half and open positions!!

Let's just I was a little put off! So, seeing this one with everything flush, balanced and centered came as a pleasant surprise:)

I guess I'd give the same advice to someone interested as you would about A Wright and Sons, if you can try before you buy that's probably for the better:)

Sam

That sounds terrible Sam! I'm going over to Sheffield tomorrow to have a look at some Arthur Wright's! ;)

Oooh-- noice. What's the handle material? I think I may like it even better than the wood I've seen on others' Jokers.

Wowzer, I'll say. I was guessing a synthetic of some sort. Tactile, translucent bull horn is better yet.

Jack - nice choice for today. It's a great pattern, especially with the spearpoint, and those jigged scales are just terrific.

Trollbane - interesting and attratctive H&R trapper. I really like the blade designs and nail nick positioning.

Andi - hope you feel better soon.

arizonaranchman - I like the matching pair!

scrteened porch - great combination. You look to have all your bases covered today.

Bloefield - of all the various versions, I think blue is my favorite color on the Sodbuster Jr.

Whetstone39 - or perhaps yellow is my favorite Sodbuster Jr. color... ;) Nice pairing with the Scout knife.

Bill - very elegant looking Queen City teardrop. I can't make out the tang stamp on the bottom knife? It's also very attractive though.

Pete - wow! That's a lot of snow. Hopefully you won't run out of gasoline, propane or Jameson. ;)

Smithhammer - lovely knife. I can see why it would grow on you.

Gev - terrific photo today - simple but elegant. And  for the Dick Proenneke reference.

AR RiverValley - beautiful heirloom!

combatjiujitsu - great looking SBJ. I'm sure it was up to the task.

Erik - the EO looks fantastic! You're more than welcome; and I'm happy that it's brings you so much joy! :)

clutchcarter - very nice looking forum knife.

r8shell - great work on that old Kutmaster!

rbeggs - very capable looking Bull Buster. I'm guessing it could handle anything you could throw at it.

Samon - simple and sharp make for a great combination.

TX_planes - I've got a Bullnose in canvas micarta, but hadn't seen a Crownlifter in that handle material. Very attractive!

GronK - lovely! I have one with similar scales but a wharncliffe blade - think I like yours better with the spear. How's the pull on yours? Mine's a bit of a bear trap.

David - very handsome 85 EO.

Derek - I agree with Paul, that's a wonderful looking 73.

Sonnemann - very cool photo. The color match is uncanny. :)

I carried my Christmas present from my wife today.

Sonnemann,

That's a beautiful 18! Why cant Case pump out bone like that anymore?

I carried my STJ 032 today. Amber bone with a little coffee and tea.

Nice to be home after a long day. Everyone should experience the joy of having employees :)

Jerry Halfrich Hidalgo, Mike Norris Stainless damascus(19c-27, 302, and D2), old growth redwood burl.

Love that knife and the user name! One of my favorite albums of all time.

It's a Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co. from the 20's. I'm not usually drawn to whittler knives but that Case is pure class.

Due to the graciousness of a fellow member Stephen (old & in the way), one of my all time favorite knives is back in my pocket today. I could not be happier. :D Thanks again Stephen!

Erik - That is a beautiful Joe Allen EO:thumbup:

Restoring an old car means new hoses and such. After trimming several pieces of heater hose, fuel line, etc. the electrician still had a pretty good edge, but I used the Hard Arkansas stone to touch it up afterwards anyway. Sort of a "thanks" for a job well done.
