What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Stephen The pull on the 56 would please a lot of people I suspect. I don't mind a hammer pull but this is moderate yet in no sense weak. Combined with the half-stop action that I prefer, you get a very smart opening and decent audible snap on both blades, if wanted:D

Thanks Will! I've got my eye on an ebony 56 with Spear, but wasn't sure about the pull. I have a 55 that has a stronger pull than I prefer. I'm hoping to hear something back on the 56 I'm after and think I'll probably pull the trigger on it based upon your feedback. Thanks again.

Jack - Thanks! My walk ended up getting interrupted by a downpour. The rain moved in earlier than I expected, but I managed to find a very comfortable spot to shelter during the worst of the rain and then turned around and headed back during a lull in the rain. I got wet, but it could've been much worse. I'll probably spend the rest of the day at home, but have the Superbowl this evening to look forward to.

rbeggs - I don't have a #21, but it definitely looks to be a very capable knife. It's been a while since I skinned a hog (25 years or more), but remember it being a difficult task and tough on your knife so it's impressive that your edge held up so well.

Duane - beautiful old Boker!

Markesharp - stunning bone scales on your NY Knife Co!

Thanks for the kind words, Stephen :) Much appreciated!

The Congress you are showing Duane, is just an amazing old and well loved gem. :) Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Andi :) The day I rescued that one from a flea market stall was a happy day. I've often wondered who owned it and used it for all those years before coming to my hand...

Had not posted for a while. In Ecuador. Not sure what came through while here. So I will start by showing some pics of what I carried there.

Really enjoyed the S&M Sheepfoot. Impressed with Fit and Finish. I also like that is was razor sharp upon arrival from the factory! Novel thought! :-)

Sorry to hear about the rain Stephen, but I hope you have a really great evening - and the rest of you Superbowl fans

This one is keeping me company on this cold and windy day. It was easy for me to find reasons not to like this knife. The blades are stainless, it's big and a little on the heavy side, it has a wharncliffe blade which I usually don't like.
I have really warmed up to it however. GEC's stainless holds a great edge and it carries easy for a knife of its size. The blade combination I am finding to be surprisingly useful. I really like the Chestnut scales and the acorn shield is just cool imho.
