There was a time when meadow, grove, and stream,
The earth, and every common sight,
To me did seem
Apparelled in celestial light,
The glory and the freshness of a dream.

Even though I haven't been around here much, I still carry a knife or two each day. For the past week or so, it's been this lovely combo:

Then, yesterday, the new 63 Fishtail arrived in the mail (Thanks, Mike!). Love this one. Pure class. Reminds me of the old Italian style, looks like something out of the 1920s/30s.

I really like the looks and finish of buffalo horn...But I have heard stories about it cracking and shrinking. Is this true?

Hey Gev, nice to see you again. Mine's not a Steri, but made by Usai. Fausto helped me with contacting the maker and having it made, maybe a year(?) ago.

Hey Tom, horn can be a very durable material, if it is properly aged and treated before use. When horn cracks, warps, or shrinks, it's usually because it was too "green" at the time of manufacture.

Kicking it old school today. Knife and books are of the same vintage.
